My classes had been going rather smoothly, thanks to Hecate's blessing of knowledge. I had done outstanding during transfiguration, thanks to reading ahead, and was proud to say that McGonagall seemed to have taking a liking to me. Potions hadn't been terrible, I had done very well but obviously, Snape was a little... rude. Now I was walking out to Hagrid's hut with my friends who were taking Care of Magical creatures, which included myself, Christina, Willow, and Hannah. None of the boys were, but I was hoping that some of my friends from other houses were there.

"So," I said. "Do you guys know who's all taking the class?"

To my left, Willow nodded. "Yeah, when I was talking with Hagrid yesterday he told me who was all coming. From Gryffindor, there was Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Parvati Patil, Dean Thomas, Seamus Finnigan, and Lavender Brown. From Ravenclaw is Padma Patil, Terry Boot, Sue Li, and Lisa Turpin. From Slytherin is Draco Malfoy, Theodore Nott, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, Pansy Parkinson, Daphne Greengrass, and Blaise Zabini."

I nodded, humming in acknowledgment. I would have Hermione from Gryffindor, seeing as both Ron and Harry were being exceptionally cold for reasons I didn't know, Sue Li from Ravenclaw, and Draco, Daphne, and Theo from Slytherin. I had met Sue, Daphne, and Theo during breakfast, and we had all clicked rather well. I'd also gotten to know the Weasley twins and Luna Lovegood rather well.

"Hey, guys," I greeted, smiling at my new friends, and Draco, of course.

"Hey, Scorpia," they greeted back, walking over so that there was a large group of us, consisting of myself, Draco, Daphne, Theo, Sue, Willow, Christina, and Hannah.

"I'm feeling rather outnumbered," Draco said, looking around the group that consisted of mostly girls.

"Same, Draco, same," Theo laughed.

I rolled my eyes dramatically. "Oh, buck up, boys. Draco, I don't suppose you remember when we snuck out to, ah, retrieve Artemis and Annabeth after they, ah, ran?"

He glared and mumbled, "Too much estrogen."

Yeah, Percy wasn't the only one who snuck out that day. Draco and I had gone too, and the prophecy had agreed, the full thing saying,

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains

One shall be lost in the land without rain

The bane of Olympus shows the trail

Campers and hunters combined prevail

On the fullest moon you shall gain two more

On that day, the titan's curse must two withstand

And one shall perish by a parent's hand

An involuntary shiver coursed through my body as I remembered the quest, and, consequently, the deaths, the war, the grief, the guilt, the trauma. With a minuscule shake of my head, I balled up the thoughts in one spot, shoving them violently out of my mind. Moral of the story, though, it was myself, Bianca, Zoe, and Thalia for the girls, and Grover, Percy, and Draco for the boys, but of course, with the hunters, the boys felt less... manly than they usually did.

Hannah laughed. "I need to hear that story sometime."

Draco and I exchanged glances, but said nothing as the class started.

"Alright, class," the teacher, Hagrid (a half-giant), said. "Please follow me."

As he led the group of third years into the dark forest, the group exchanged wary glances. They stopped at a clearing, and my jaw dropped in awe. "Hippogryph!" I exclaimed. Hagrid smiled happily.
