Caroline.

I looked down as I felt something tug on my sleeve, "Mami? Can we go down now it's been ages."  Madeline complained, "the match is way over!"

We'd gone to watch their father's last game of the season this weekend and they were dying to go down and congratulate him. "Of course you can, we can all go now."

All the press had left so it was just the team, their greying coach (my father) and us. "Ow! Mami Ferdinand hit me!" Madeline shouted as she and her twin brother raced down the stairs. I picked up Angela who was still playing with her daisy chain in her seat and followed them down.

I sighed, "Ferdinand what did I say about hitting your sister?"

"Only to do it whens she really deserves it?" he asked shooting me a pearly smile.

I bit back a laugh, "no! Never to do it-. Madeline Rodriguez you put that stick down and away from your brother's head right now!"

The twins were seven now and absolute fire crackers, I was having trouble prying them off of each other these days. Madeline was the spitting image of her father, she was also the darkest of her siblings, brown hair brown eyes tanned skin. She also resembled him the most personality wise, Maddy was obsessed with baseball, although I'm proud to say my impeccable taste in clothes rubbed off on her. Ferdinand was a mix of both of us, he had my blonde hair but Benny's eyes although he reminded me more of Javier than the two of us. Reckless in the best way was pribably the most accurate description.

The youngest of the three was Angela, I'd named her after my mother because she was the spitting image of her. Of me too. The blonde hair and blue eyes, she was also the fairest of ehr siblings and the most like me. She was only five and maybe I was projecting but she reminded me a lot of both my mother and myself which I couldn't have been more happy about.

I put her down so she could run over to her father while my own father came up to me, "and have they driven you insane yet?" he asked grinning.

I laughed linking my arm through his, "they're getting there."

My father shot me an amused look, "wait until they become teenagers and they don't speak to you for a month because you forbid them to go out with their boyfriends, that's when it gets really fun."

I'd completely forgotten about that, "who says I'd forbid them from seeing their boyfriends?" I teased him.

"You might not but he certainly will. Thankfully one of you has a good head on your shoulders." My father teased back nodding at Benny.

"He'll do what ever I tell him." I joked as we walked over to them.

"Ah you're right, who am I kidding? You have that boy wrapped around your fingers." My father replied his eyes twinkling, "as you should."

Benny put the kids down when we finally reached him, "took you long enough Princess" He asked wrapping his arms around me.

I grinned pressing a kiss to his lips, it had been a long time since he'd used that one as an insult, "says you, taking a million hours to talk to the reporters down here. I never thought you would have been one to enjoy all the attention."

"Jealous?" He asked a light smirk resting on his lips.

I snorted, "oh yeah, like out of my mind jealous. Oh wait, that's your line."

Benny slung his arm around my waist was we walked down the field towards the exit, "damn right it is. Although tonight a lot of other people are going to be using it when they see my stunning wife at the after party."

I grinned bumping my shoulder against his, "suck up."

He kissed me on the cheek, "only for you."

"That's what I like to hear."

Benny.

We were sitting back at home in our appartment, although Caroline and I had been adamant that our kids be raised in the Valley just like we were, we still spent a lot of time in the appartment in New York. Especially during baseball season. I'd invited our closest friends from back home and my family to come down and celebrate with us, Kenny and Ashlyn, Emmy and her husband Nico and my family, Lola and her kids and my parents.

"How does it feel to be the next Babe Ruth?" Kenny asked grinning as he sat down next to me.

"His ego is already big enough you really don't need to be feeding it." She told him shooting me a grin.

"Like you can talk." I shot back at her amused.

"At least you have Caroline to cut you down to size." Emmy added, "she's perfect for you."

I couldn't agree more. "Unfortunately you have no one to put your constantly inlfating self of sense back where it belongs because Nico worships the ground you work on."

She smirked, "why do you think we get along so well?"

"Guys!" Caroline called as she and Ashlyn walked out of our room, "it's time to go! Or we'll be late and my father will kill us."

I hadn't seen her yet because as per usual she'd spent all evening getting ready, so when I finally did see her my heart stopped for a second. She looked amazing, I mean it was Caroline she always looked amazing but it still hit me every time.

We all got up and I went to join her as we walked out of the appartment and towards the elevator, "maybe we should just stay at home tonight." I teased her.

Caroline laughed her eyes sparkling, "you wish, this outfit is new and tonight is the perfect time for me to show it off."

"And I'm the one who likes all the attention." I responded grinning.

"Well you learnt from the best." Caroline told me winking, "besides if we want my father to live to see another day we have to show up because he will go into cardiac arrest if you don't show up."

"True, I don't think it would be fair on the kids to see their grandfather die so early." I answered, "looks like we'll have to go."

Caroline smiled leaning back against the wall of the elevator as she looked me up and down, "I promise I'll make it worth your while though." She replied a smirk growing on her face.

Jesus Christ did I get lucky.
