Y/n pov:

I woke up slowly on a new day, struggling to find a reason to get up until I remembered I had an important job and at least one boss that would probably take pleasure in punishing me if I ran late. Yawning, I dragged the covers off and got to my feet. I stumbled to my kitchen space and scavenged what little food I had, I really didn't buy much when I went to the shop before going out to dinner yesterday. A few instant noodle pots, a pack of croissants, some apples, a chocolate bar and a jug of milk. I took a croissant out of the packet and stuffed it in the microwave. I watched it slowly rotate in my half awake state before pouring a glass of milk, regretting not buying tea, or any kind of juice.

It was then that my eyes fell on the note that had been left alongside my sonic screwdriver the previous night. It seemed genuine, like Evelynn really cared about making things right, which was weird. She took the time to handwrite a note, even if it was two words, instead of texting me. Despite the fact that she had entered my apartment without my permission to do it, she delivered it herself. It was like strange personal care had gone into it. I pulled out my phone and opened Evelynn's messages. I probably shouldn't message her, she might not even be awake. I'll just talk to her at work today, I'm bound to run into her.

After hearing a ping, I pulled the warmed-up croissant out of the microwave and enjoyed a nice breakfast in the silence of my apartment. I went about my normal morning routine when I finished; wash, get dressed and gather everything I would need for the day. I assumed that I would have a suitable computer at my workstation but I decided to take my laptop in case I needed it. I realised I had some time to kill so I just switched on the TV that was already in the place before I moved and watched whatever was on the first channel. After a few minutes my phone lit up with a message; it was Ahri.

Ahri: I hope you're ready to go :>.

Y/n: Of course. Where should I go?

Ahri: To the elevator!

I rushed to the door, eager to impress my bosses with timing, and opened it. I saw Ahri standing in the elevator at the end of the hallway in a formal dress with a small handbag on her shoulder and her phone in that hand whilst her other was pressing the elevator's control panel to keep the door open. I strolled quickly down the hallway and joined her.

Y/n: "Good morning Ahri."

Ahri: "Hey y/n. Sleep well?"

Y/n: "Yeah, the bed included in the room was incredibly comfortable."

Ahri: "I'm not surprised, I'm pretty sure Eve picked all of the furniture herself."

Y/n: "I'm surprised that she cares that much to have gone furniture shopping. Oh yeah, she returned my device with an apology note, I found it after dinner last night. I'm going to talk to her about it today."

Ahri: "Huh, really?"

She looked at me in awe.

Y/n: "What's wrong?"

Ahri: "I don't think I've ever seen her write anything other than her autograph."

Her awe turned to concern before she tried to laugh it off.

Ahri: "You know *laugh* you might want to hold onto that, it probably has a lot of value."

Y/n: "Ha yeah probably."

It was then that the elevator reached the garage and we stepped out. Her stride quickened and her tails bounced with excitement as she made for her Porsche.

Y/n: "Are we not going to wait for any of the others?"

Ahri: "We all commute at different times."

Y/n: "Do you not... work together?"
