Jill was the first to stir and cleared her throat while she parked the car, moving arm away from my chest. "Are you ok?" she asked and looked at me with wide eyes filled with fear and a pale face. "You are kind of pale."
I nodded and pressed my lips into a thin line, not taking my eyes off the wolf. "I am," I said hesitantly before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "I am ok."
I am excited to see an actual Werewolf...
I tore my attention from the Werewolf in front of me and looked at Jill to see that she was also looking kind of pale and nervous. "Are you ok?" I asked, growing concerned about the female that was supposed to be considered my new mother. "I mean, you are also kind of pale."
Jill forced a small smile on her face. "I am fine," she said and looked away from me as if she didn't want me to know the truth.
I slowly blinked, unamused, and rolled my eyes because I did not believe her for a second. "Hmph." I turned my attention back to the wolf in front of us with lips pressed into a thin line and an unamused look on my face.
The wolf's eyes seemed to sparkle with amusement as if he understood the look on my face and tucked his head closer to his chest before he lifted his head to stare at me.
I cocked my head while I studied the wolf, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up at attention.
Jason...
It was a name that was whispered in my ear from an unknown source, but I knew that what it said was true.
The large wolf was Jason...
Jason lowered his head just a tad while he stared at me, and it seemed that he wanted me to get out of the car and see him up close and personal.
"Can I get out of the car?" I asked and started to unbuckle my seatbelt while I shifted in my seat. "Please?"
"I don't thi-" She stopped talking and looked at Jason with eyes wide and pressed her lips into a thin line. She didn't say a word while she looked at him.
Jason tore his gaze off of me and looked at Jill, saying something to her before he looked at me.
Jill grabbed her steering wheel tighter and set her jaw. She didn't say a word, but I knew that she was talking to Jason somehow even if I couldn't hear it.
"Please?" I asked while I finished taking off my seatbelt and placing my hand on the door handle, but I didn't look at her. "Can I go ahead and go outside and meet him?"
My hand started to shake while I waited for Jill's permission, and I couldn't help but start to feel excited, nervous even, for I wanted to see this "creature" up close and personal.
Jill looked at Jason before she looked at me. Her face was blank, but her eyes were filled with worry and fear. "The Alpha is dangerous, though," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "He could hurt you."
I pressed my lips into a thin line before I looked at Jason to see that he had rolled his eyes as soon as Jill said that.
Jason looked at me and stared at me, and it felt as if he was looking into my soul, even though I had no idea if it was true.
"I don't think so..." I said and cocked my head to the side while I looked at him, and Jason seemed to follow my lead and cocked his head, too. "I don't think he wants to hurt me but wants to test me..."
"Test you... how?" Jill asked and raised an eyebrow in question. She grabbed her steering wheel tighter while she set her jaw. "What do you mean by that?"
