"What about this?" Ennessey held up a scandalous dress that still had a tag on it. "Perfect if you're tryna get laid"

"Absolutely not, I don't wanna look like a hooker" I muttered as she laugh.

"Sorry to remind you but your whole damn closet is full of it" I smacked my lips falling back onto my bed. I knew she was right.

"We bought majority of these together"

"I mean yeah but I'm not on the market anymore" I stuck my middle finger up as she laughed.

"Maybe this was a mistake" she shook her head hopping off my bed.

"Aht come on" she said grabbing my hand pulling me off the bed.

"What are you doing?" I questioned as I followed her towards my kitchen. She started opening my cabinets looking for something particular.

"We about to take a shot, you not acting yourself" she finally grabbed the bottle of Don Julio and two shot glasses.

"I mean you could've offered me a snicker or something"

"Nah that's not strong enough bookie—I'm suppose to be the over thinker in this relationship"

"Girl please" I let out a laugh as she slid my shot towards me. I tossed back the first shot instantly curling my lips. "You don't even drink tequila"

"I know, that's why you gonna take mine as well" she happily slid her shot over to me.

"This a dangerous game we're playing" She smiled pushing it a little closer. I smacked my lips picking her glass up and tossing it back. The same burning sensation came right after.

"Go bestie" She started clapping. "Feel better?"

"Slightly" I smirked.

"Now let's talk, what's been going on with you?" I hopped onto my counter as she took a seat on my barstool. "Where's the woman that goes with the flow, that doesn't hesitate, that lives her life with no bumpers?"

I shrugged. "I wonder the same"

"Talk to me friend, I'm here"

"I know you are it's just—" I sighed pinching the bridge of my nose. "—I just been really focused on my work and trying not to fuck it up"

"Ahh try again" she mimicked a buzzer noise. "Where is your mind at?

"Not where it's supposed to be" I muttered. "This project is one of the biggest in my career and I just don't wanna risk loosing my job"

"This isn't about the policy thing with Silas is it?" I started to shake my head no but then I thought about it. Part of this was because of my fear of people finding out. Even if my situationship was before he partnered with us doesn't mean my boss would see it as that. I just didn't want to test my luck. I haven't even been at the company long enough

"I mean partially but it's more about succeeding. I don't want others thinking I got a 1 up if they discover the thing I had with him"

"So what" she stood from her seat. "You know how many people thought I used Saige to get to where I was. People will always be jealous because you achieved something they couldn't"

"You're right"

"I know I am"

"Aight now, don't get cocky" I started laughing as she smiled. "I don't know why I'm worried about what others would think of me"
