I looked at the building staring at the signs saying "Register here" "Rank ups here" "Guild registration here" all of them in front of some sort of queue the lines varying in length. All of them were under 10 people the longest one being in the register category. I kept looking around the floors being a mana enforced marble. I stared at the weak rune words wondering who made them.

I looked at the runes confused at who would write such runes. It looked like someone wrote a sentence from google translate. Then I remembered what I went in there for deciding to wait in line. I saw many runes seemingly misspelled.

As I got to the front of the lines I mumbled a small "Hello." The woman, dressed in all black with a small badge on her shirt's collar with a large C and the associations symbol. Watch me holding back a laugh saying "Hello please list your skills and basic stats, we will use this information to calculate your rank then give you a task according to your stats. You'd be surprised how many people try to fake their rank. We had to implement the tasks after 1 too many black gates breaking"

My heart dropped after the realization that people had faked their ranks causing that... Utter devastation, my mind popping into a small argument happening between my parents while I happily sat in the other room reading a book. I heard a loud bang and started to cry, I was around 7 when it happened so I immediately went to my mom. A gray gate broke that day, the lowest rank, causing 4 deaths and 12 injuries.

I remembered that I had to give her my stats and started to list them from the screen, not thinking much of them. "I have a hp of 500, a defense of 100, a mp of 400, and a strength of 40." She typed not bothering to look at me and said "You have the average stats of a C-ranker, may I know your skills." She asked before I stated "Healing Aura, a Epic skill boosting healing skills, Life Force Regeneration, a Rare healing skill, Blessing of Mana, a Uncommon boosting skill, and Inscription, a Unique rune carving skill."

She looked at me happily saying "We don't get many healers around here. Since you are also a subclasser we will end up having to do 2 exams. She said this while bringing me to a room where healers were attempting to heal injured hunters. I looked around and quickly went to the nearest one starting to heal them scratches littering their back. As I healed them I asked their name. They stated their name and we started talking. He apparently got scratched at the break of a green gate. I looked at his rank, he was a D-ranker. I finished healing then moved to the one next to him

The one next to him, a 16 year old girl, kept apologizing sobbing as I healed her. After I finished healing her I asked "Whats wrong?" Quickly making sure I healed her correctly. She started to sob in my chest saying "I-It was a serpent I just wasted your time and mana." I consoled her saying "It's fine I have a detox effect!"

I checked her rank, a C-ranker they were normally the most cocky. I asked her confused, "Why would you worry, we take very good care of high rankers?" She looked at me, tears still rolling down her cheeks as she said "I'm not worth anything, I'm a... useless hunter!" I look at her laughing saying "Your not a useless hunter your important!" She stopped crying and I moved on...

I kept healing a few more before remembering I was in the middle of a test and going back to her apologizing. I stared at her eyes, obviously confused. She looked at me and asked "It's fine you passed anyway you already did the assignment but what was the skill you used?" I laughed and said "A Rare healing skill!" She looked at me and asked "So you lied you can't just lie to our patients we need this for testing!?!?" I quickly apologized and said "T-The detox comes from my other skill Healing Aura."

She looked at me obviously overjoyed and said "Great, we've been needing healers with detoxification but I guess you can do it anyway!" She clicked a button on her tablet before showing me to another room. This room, rather than looking like a medical clinic, was oddly silent. I looked around and there were many images of carvings. Some looked like a wonderful ballad and others were like a 5 year old wrote them. I grabbed the marble she handed me as well as a chisel and started to chisel away at the desk. I kept chiseling, ending up with a beautiful statue with many tiny runes scattered all over it, a beautiful dark panther.

She looked at it confused and asked "What is this creation of yours?" I looked up at her and asked "Do you have 2 grade 1 magic stones?" She handed them over from a tub overflowing with them. I inserted two into the eyes slots and the marble turned black and the panther nuzzled her hand. She watched amused as it quickly ran back over to me hoping onto my shoulder.

She laughed before quickly heading back out into the lobby, a different receptionist this time a D-ranker. I looked at the cute little panther on my shoulder it was laid out stretching. I asked "Can I keep it?" Excitement filled my eyes as she nodded and I quickly held it asking if there was anything left. She let out a small chuckle before going over to some printer quickly inserting a mana stone and the tablet. She handed me back a B-rank tag. I looked at it and happily accepted it. She elaborated with "Usually you would be a C-ranker but since you have a detoxification effect and mage skills you've been bumped up to B-rank!" I happily nodded and left the association.

I knew that most B-rankers got sign up bonuses of around 5k but healers got around 7.5k. Luckily since all nations merged currency(I'm doing this so I can fuck up the value) inflation was at an all time low. I looked around before finding the door and heading outside. I happily hugged my little panther buddy and walked home deciding to look for a guild tomorrow!

Sorry if this chapter was a little short 😓 The main love interest will be introduced the next chapter. Since this is a bl itll be a guy but if you want this book but with smut It'll be the same plotline but I will make it a different book so I dont have to mark this one as mature!!!
