The desert sun blazed with relentless intensity as Skales, the imposing general of the Hypnobrai tribe, and Pythor the powerful Anacondrai, their scales tensing with the sweltering heat. Skales and Pythor's serpentine bodies were coated with sand particles, scraped tirelessly at the parched earth. The vast expanse of the barren landscape stretched endlessly before them, testing their limits in their arduous quest.
Skales cast a weary glance at Pythor, his patience fraying. "We're wasting time, Pythor. There's nothing out here but sand and dust."
Pythor continued to dig with fierce determination. His magenta eyes remained fixed on the ground, with a glimmer of hope burning within them. "Keep digging. The Lost City of Ouroboros lies beneath us. I can feel it."
Skales scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Face it, Pythor. Your attempt to unite the tribes has failed. Now, without your Anacondrai kin, you're grasping at shadows."
Pythor's gaze hardened, frustration mingling with determination. His voice grew sharper as he glared at Skales. "I am desperate, Skales, but not for myself. My desperation is to unite our kind and awaken the Great Devourer."
Skales remained unconvinced. "You put too much faith in ancient legends. Besides, all the Serpentine know is to be at war with another. You also failed to apprehend the Light Ninja. We are all itching for revenge against the boy."
Pythor's eyes flared with anger, a reminder of the pain in his injured eye, due to his previous clash with Sam. "It was your order to let him go."
Skales's tone turned harsh. "And you merely failed to capture him."
Pythor's eyes caught a glimmering object half-buried in the sand. His eyes widened as he unearthed the dial inscribed with ancient and cryptic symbols. A triumphant smile spread across his face as he turned the dial, his laughter echoing across the desolate expanse.
As the colossal ancient city began to emerge, the octagonal shape of the central Slither Pit became visible. The arena was paved with stone, and the emblem of a twisted snake was carved into the ground. A massive orange-yellow stature of the Great Devourer loomed menacingly over the arena.
Pythor's eyes gleamed with victory as he surveyed their discovery. "Behold the Lost City of Ouroboros," he declared, his voice dripping with dark satisfaction. Skales, standing a little farther away, could only stare in awe at the ancient city.
Pythor smirked back at Skales, towering over the general with his height. "Let the Light Ninja come. We are more than ready to take our revenge."
Skales's eyes narrowed with anticipation and scepticism in his gaze. "Very well. But remember, Pythor, we must not let our quest for revenge cloud our judgment. The Light Ninja is experienced. He always intervenes with our plans. We need to be smarter if we are to achieve our goal."
Pythor's smile didn't falter the serpent's magenta eyes held determination within their souls. "I am aware of his skills. That is why we need to be ready for every possible outcome. This time the serpentines will not lose. The Lost City of Ouroboros will grant us victory over him and the rest of the ninjas."
Skales nodded, his expression reflecting of resolve and anticipation. "Then let us make our preparations. We cannot afford any more failures."
The Destiny's Bounty sailed high in the blue skies past a towering mountain and a figure emerged from the clouds above. The Postman, adorned with makeshift wings and pedalling furiously on his bicycle, struggled to catch up with the flying ship. "Wait! Slow down!" he shouted, clutching a parcel. "I have a package for Sensei Wu!"
