Before my classmate and I headed to our training camp, and before going to I-Island, we all decided to go to UA's pool for extra training. It took a while to convince Katsuki to come, but with a little help from Kirishima, he finally agreed. Of course, because it was school grounds, we all are wearing our school swimsuits. The girls mostly just want to hang out at the pool because we aren't allowed to take any long trips over summer vacation. Turns out, that's what happens when your class is attacked by the League of Villians. Unlike the rest of the girls, I came to the pool to work on controlling my water. Then, when the girls saw me training on my own, they decided to train, too, and they were kind enough to help me with my waterbending training.
"Yagi, why don't you take a break." Yaoyorozu advised after training for a certain amount of time.
"Yeah, okay." I slowly put the water back into the pool. I was pushing myself hard, so I was a bit out of breath and sweaty.
"Here." Tsuyu offers me my towel and the coconut water I brought with me.
"Thanks." I smile and accept the towel and drink. I opened the cap of my water bottle and started drinking. I heard it's not healthy to only drink water, so I usually infuse fruits, herbs, and spices into my water or drink other stuff like coconut water, green tea, smoothies, milk, sugar free fruit juices, vegetable juices, protein shakes, or sports drinks whenever I workout. Believe it or not, each of these drinks has a lot of nutritional benefits. I let out a refreshed sigh once I stopped drinking.
"Thank you for helping me with my water training, girls." I placed my drink down and used my towel to wipe the pool water and sweat off my body. "I really appreciate it."
"Don't sweat it, Yagi." Ashido said.
"Yes, we were more than happy to help you." Yaoyorozu added.
"Plus, it just wouldn't feel right if you're the only girl working hard on her Quirk." Jiro points out.
After putting my towel back in my bag, I walked over to Izuku, who's panting while bent over.
"You doing okay, Izuku?" I asked my friend.
"Yeah, I'm good." Izuku breathed out.
"Hey, Midoriya." Iida, wearing a swim cap and swim goggles over his head, walked towards us with a can of orange juice in his hand. "It looks like you could use a break."
"You're probably right, thanks." Izuku accepts the refreshment from our class representative and drinks it.
Ever since I met Izuku, I always thought he was helpless because he didn't have a Quirk. But it turns out he was just a late bloomer. At first, I almost didn't believe it because I found out about his Quirk during Mr. Aizawa's Quirk assessment test. I asked him a lot of questions about his Quirk that suddenly appeared, but he'd either try to brush it off or change the subject.
Izuku noticed Iida staring at him and stopped drinking his juice. "Something wrong?"
"No." Iida simply replies. He sits down on a starting block. "This is just funny, that's all. At the entrance exams, I couldn't imagine the two of us would get along, much less become such good friends. I guess, if I'm being honest, I didn't think that much of you back then. And yet. During the practical exam... you did put Uraraka ahead of yourself. Even though saving her meant you might not pass."
"In the end, your act of heroism got you accepted into UA." I smiled at Izuku.
"I was so happy." My childhood friend gratefully smiles as he sits down on the starting block next to Iida. "It had always been a dream of mine to attend All Might's alma mater someday. Even though I knew it was a long shot. And then, when Mr. Aizawa said the person in last place for the fitness test would be expelled, I was sure I'd be going home."
