As I stepped into the school's bustling hallways, the sound of chatter and laughter enveloped me. I was making my way to my classroom when a voice pierced through the noise, calling out my name.
"YN!!"
I turned around, knowing exactly who the owner of that voice was. My best friend, Lisa, was hurrying towards me, a bright smile on her face.
"Lisa!!" I exclaimed, thrilled to see her.
"Wait for me, Yn!" she called out, her long legs striding towards me.
I waited patiently, and when she reached me, we exchanged warm greetings. "How were your holidays?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.
Lisa took a deep breath before launching into a detailed account of her break. "I did everything I needed to, but I'm still not fully prepared for the exams," she admitted, her face scrunched up in concern.
I nodded in solidarity. "Same here. I'm not feeling confident about the exams either."
As we chatted, we walked into our classroom, taking our seats on the front bench. Ms. Choi, our teacher, arrived shortly, greeting us with a warm smile.
"Good morning, students. I hope you're all doing well."
The class responded in unison, "Good morning, Mam."
Ms. Choi's expression turned serious. "Your final exams are just around the corner, so make sure you're all properly prepared."
The class erupted into a chorus of gasps and whispers. "What!? That's too early!"
Ms. Choi held up her hands, placating us. "I know, I know. But I have no control over the schedule. Just make sure you ask me if you have any questions."
Just as Ms. Choi was about to leave, she stopped, a thought striking her. "Oh, and one more thing. You'll be working on a project with the senior class students. I'll explain everything tomorrow."
With that, she left the classroom, leaving us all buzzing with excitement and nerves.
The next day, Lisa and I were discussing the project, our heads bent together in conspiracy.
"Bestie, I want to do the project with you," Lisa said, her eyes shining with excitement.
I grinned, feeling the same way. "I want to do it with you too, but let's see what Ms. Choi has in store for us first."
