"Peter! Get back here!" Emma screamed as she chased her younger brother around the house. It was just a regular normal day with her kleptomaniac of a brother swiping yet another one of her items. Today, it was her beloved Walkman.

The only disadvantage the older girl had with her brother is speed. Both she and her brother were part of the few ever so lucky people to have mutated genes. Which in turn gave them powers. Peter had been blessed with super speed that allowed him to get to any place in less than a blink of an eye. Emma however, was not blessed with a power that revolved around speed in any way.

"Y'know sis, you may be older..but I'm faster!" Peter called out with a laugh before he zoomed down into the basement while tossing Emma's Walkman up into the air, which she luckily caught. She breathed out an annoyed sigh before trudging up the stairs to her bedroom. She closed the door behind her before turning on her Walkman and placing her headphones over her ears. She walked over and lied down on her bed. She closed her eyes for a moment and listened to the music that played before opening them and peering over to just right above her dresser. Above her dresser was a pinboard that was littered with both old and new photos and multicolored sticky notes.

Out of the assortment of different photos, one in particular caught her eye. It was an older one but it was still one of her favorites. It was a photo of herself kissing the cheek of a blonde haired boy. The boy had a bright smile plastered on his face with his arm draped across Emma"s shoulders. They both looked to be around 18 whenever the photo was taken. If the now 19 almost 20 year old remembered correctly, that photo was taken almost 2 years ago today. Just days before Emma's birthday where she planned on telling the boy that he was the one who had stolen her heart. However, she never had the chance to tell him her feelings. Nearly two days before her birthday, the boy disappeared. And no one knew where he left to. Needless to say Emma was heart broken over his disappearance. She had attempted to contact him on numerous occasions along with trying to speak to his family, but they too dropped contact with the girl. At one point she just gave up and tried to move on with her life. But now, a year and 11 months later, she still finds herself thinking about the boy. And that boy, was named Alexander Summers. He was her best friend since kindergarten. They were always tied to each other at the hip and were completely inseparable until his fateful disappearance.

Emma was taken out of her thoughts when she heard a loud knock on the front door.

"Peter! Get the door!" She called out to her brother but received no response.

"Pete- oh never mind!" She huffed while rising from her position on her bed. She removed the headphones from her head and placed them and her Walkman on her bedside table. She then quickly made her way towards the door and sped down the stairs.

"Coming!" She called out to whoever was on the opposite side of the door. She reached the sleeve of her sweater to her eyes and quickly dried the tears that she wasn't aware had fallen. She collected her composure and opened the front door.

When she opened the door, she was met with two older men. One had short reddish brown hair while the other had slightly longer brown hair, both were neatly combed back. The one with the short reddish brown hair who seemed to be a bit more burly was slightly taller than the other. They both held polite smiles on their faces as they peered at Emma.

"Hello Ms Emma Maximoff. My name is Charles Xavier. And this is my friend Erik Lehnsherr." The man with longer brown hair introduced and stuck out his hand for a handshake. Emma eyed his hand skeptically and hesitantly shook his hand.

"Hello? Wait- how'd you know my name?" She asked with an arched brow as she stepped out onto the front porch. The two men looked at each other with a smug smile before turning back to the girl.

"Well you see Emma, we are just like you." Erik spoke up which earned a scoff of disbelief from Emma. He then lifted two fingers up and waved them towards the right. Emma froze as she watched the front door close.

"We would appreciate it if you would come with us." Charles said. Emma slowly nodded her head before walking back into the house and packing a bag. She packed all the necessities like clothes, her Walkman, and toiletries. Before leaving her room she stopped back by her dresser. She peered up towards the pin board and grabbed a few photos, seeing as she wasn't sure how long she'd be away. She grabbed a family photo, one of her and Peter, one of her and her mother and sister, and stuffed them neatly into her bag. Lastly she grabbed the photo of her and Alex and placed it in her pants pocket for safe keeping before continuing to leave her room. She stopped by the basement where Peter was busy playing PacMan.

"Who was at the door?" He asked as he continued to play his game.

"Uh, nobody. Look I'm gonna be gone for a few days. Mom should be back in an hour or two so don't do anything stupid until I get back because I will know" She said tapping her temple with a serious stare towards Peter.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love ya sis. Bye now." He rushed before zooming towards her. He placed his hand to the back of her neck and zoomed her to the front door before zooming back inside and resuming his game.

She caught her breath before cursing her brother under her breath. She turned towards Charles and Erik who had been patiently sitting on the bench on the front porch.

"So, where to now?" She Emma asked as she looked towards the two men.
