Previously on Plague 2023.....

The group of survivors—led by Jaeyeon, Sae Joon Hyun, Yon, and Hailey—find themselves in a precarious situation after agreeing to a deal with a mysterious group of doctors, including Hye-jin and Ha-ram. After Sae Joon Hyun sustains a severe wound, the group is forced to seek help from these doctors, who conduct a successful surgery under the condition that they can later take blood samples from Jaeyeon and Yon for their research.

Following the surgery, the group is escorted to a large, sterile room with metal bunk beds, where they are kept under constant surveillance. Knowing that they are being watched and listened to, they communicate through a coded conversation, revealing their plan to switch Jaeyeon's blood sample with Hamin's to protect Jaeyeon’s true identity, which the doctors are unaware of. Hamin executes this plan by secretly obtaining and swapping the blood samples during a trip to the washroom, a place they correctly assumed would be less monitored.

The group successfully completes the first phase of their escape plan without raising suspicion, ensuring that Jaeyeon's blood sample is returned to him during a later washroom visit. With this victory, the group begins preparing for the next steps of their plan: gathering information about the facility, understanding how they were tracked down, and ultimately planning their escape while keeping Jaeyeon’s true identity hidden. Despite the danger, they remain determined and united in their mission to secure their freedom.
