Visha's POV
I woke up late. Again. It has been a kind of routine since I came here. It's been a whole week since me and my family shifted to Jaipur. Everything had been a mess in the starting, all the shifting and settling and cleaning. Everything. But it's better now that all is done.
I got down from the bed and go to freshen up only to hear my mom shouting.
"VISHAA, uth gai ki nhi?" she barged in my room looked at me.Ok. She's angry for sure.
"Visha, are you up yet or not?"
"Tujhe maine kitni baar bola h ki jaldi uth jaya kr aur naha liya kr. Daant sunne me maja aata h kya tujhe. Ghar me kalesh krwa lo isse, bss. Jaa ja kr muh dho ke aa niche."
"Just how many times have I told you to get up early and take a bath. Do you like to get scolded. Always creating chaos in the house. Go, wash your face and come downstairs."
"Han mummi yr. Aai." and she left the room still going on with her lecture. Why can't mothers stop scolding once they get away from the sight. They just continue it for as long as they can.
I freshen up and go downstairs, mom is in kitchen making tea for us all and my father is using his phone, while the TV in front of him is still on with news going on.
I go to kitchen and put my head on mom's shoulder from behind, "what are you making mumma" she gives me a look and I get away from her as she speaks.
"Can't you see. Accha sunn, jaa jakr paani pi aur chai lele apni aur papa ko bhi dede. Phir naha liyo aur mandir chli jaiyo"
"Aree yr mummi, kl hi to nahai thi. Daily nhi nahana chahiye." I spoke. Whats the need of bathing daily, waste of water. Sometimes bathing makes sense but not daily. My thoughts were interrupted from my father's voice.
"Haan haan. kyu nahana h, mt nahao. Jao jakr gobar aur laga lo muh pr, wo jada thik rahega. Kl hi to nahai thi, kal khana bhi to khaya tha beta. Wo bhi mt khao aaj. Dusht ladki."
I quickly took my tea from maa and ran upstairs with some biscuits, to my brother's room. They get so serious all the time. I enter his room and find him lying on his bed and playing games.
"Aur bhai, kya haal h." I get on the bed carefully, no tea spilling, avoiding his legs and sat beside him.
"Kya h tujhe. Jaa yaha se." He spoke annoyingly.
"Aree yrr mai bore ho rhi hun na." I started eating biscuits with tea in one hand.
"han to? nikal ja yaha se, mujhe bore mt kr."
"chii yr, tu kisi kaam ka nhi h. Ye nhi ki kuch baat krle."
"Tu mujhe 'tu' bolegi ab, hn? Jada batameezi nhi ho rhi teri." He spoke, finally looking away from his game to me. Maybe it was better when he was not looking at me. Fine, I'll just leave. I quickly got up and went back to my room.
"Visha sunn." he spoke and i stopped at the gate of his room. Aa gyi na meri yaad bhaiya ji.
"hn bolo."
"Tera school h kal se. Taiyari kr lio, mummi ne kaha tha btane ko." Oh. My. Gods.
"Gadhe, badi jldi bata dia na"
----------------------------------------------
I was getting ready to go back to bed. All was done for the preparation of my 'back to school' as they say. Books, Uniform, Taunts. Everything, just one thing was missing.
Motivation. Bcz come on, who the heck feels excited for the first day of school. Maybe a little but it's all nervousness other than that. I got no friends for god's sake, how will I manage. Most important part, I don't even know how to make friends. ughh.
Putting all my thoughts and nervousness aside, I go to bed and Sleep.
