the doctor came into the waiting room and walked over to me, but as i stood up he told me to have a seat
hey doctor how is she? i say anxiously
"your Girlfriend, as you know she's diabetic so we've been monitoring her glucose and insulin however her body is going into shock due to her dexcom being off, she probably didn't even notice the battery died, now i can take you in for you can see her or you can wait a minute which would be wise. but there are a lot of wires plugged into her"
my mind was going a hundred miles per hour mainly because i couldn't stop thinking of her lying unconscious with cords and the fucking cords plugged into her
as soon as i see her shes paler than a ghost but that doesn't stop me from running over to her and giving her a kiss on her forehead.
i walk around her bed to pull out the chair that looks rougher than god knows what but i pull it closer to her bed as i sit down i feel tons of exhaustion wave over me as if I've haven't slept in ages
i sit as close as i can to the bed and pick up her hand, her cold hand and i lean into it before i feel myself off into the darkness called sleep.
6 HOURS LATER
i feel movement shifting from underneath me and at first i thought it was me but when i opened my eyes i noticed myself being nudged off by sky's sharp confused movements of her hand.
i see her fading in and i don't know if that's a good sign or not so i press the button beside her that's supposed to call in a nurse in but instead of one there is about 6 or 7 doctors storming in to check on Sky, and at first i'm confused but then i remember what the doctor said ".... shes in shock from her dexcom being off for so long" so it clicks in my head almost immediately
i stand up abruptly which caused the chair to be pushed back and me to gather all the stares in the room and as the doctors speak to me i hear a quite voice
"hey doc when can i go home" said sky but i couldn't shake the fact that she was sounding mad
"unfortunately your dexcom battery died and so you weren't getting your insulin, meaning you have went 6 hours with no insulin meaning we are concerned about you, but your boyfriend said he would take care of you"
i smiled at the fact that he said boyfriend and although i was staring at the doctor i took a glance in skys direction confusion written all over her face, god how i love her face.
my favourite part was when the doctor said "Sky you will need supervision for the next 72 hours so your boyfriend said he can help you now i advise the both of you sticking near each other and if you feel worse please come back but i have to go now so a nurse will be by with your discharge papers"
as the doctors walk out i hear a mumbled "since when did i have a boyfriend?"
since now princess, i said with a wide grin sprawled across my face
