🔸That night (after meeting Luke):-
New laid beside Tay, who was fast asleep, his arms wrapped snugly around him. Not wanting to disturb his peaceful slumber, New carefully extricated himself from Tay's embrace and got out of bed...
•Luke's words still lingered on his mind, "New, be careful! Don't do anything alone! I'll help you to protect Tawan! But promise me, you won't mess with Mrs. Vihokratana... She is dangerous! She can hurt anyone!"
He needed some fresh air to clear his mind. He stepped out of the bedroom, into the quiet hallway, and made his way to the garden. The night air was cool and calming, filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.
As he strolled through the garden, he noticed Mrs. Liza slipping out of the house, her figure barely visible in the darkness.
Curious, New followed her, his eyes adjusting to the dim light. Mrs. Liza stopped near a cluster of trees, speaking to someone in hushed tones. New crept closer, but the darkness concealed the other person's face. He strained to listen, catching snippets of Mrs. Liza's ominous words:
~ "...suppress my secrets...I'll...kill one or two more...my son...suffer...I'm warning you..."
New's ears prickled, but he couldn't quite make out the conversation. Suddenly, Mrs. Liza glanced around, and New ducked behind a nearby pillar, holding his breath. She seemed to sense something, but didn't spot him.
After a moment, she returned to her conversation, her voice barely audible. New took advantage of the distraction to slip back into the hall, his mind racing with questions.
New also returned to bed, Tay was still asleep. But as soon as he lay down, Tay's arms wrapped around him, pulling him close. New smiled, adjusting the blanket and kissing Tay's cheek.
~"Please universe, help me to protect him at any cost..." New whispered, gazing at Tay's peaceful face with a deep sense of resolve.
