I go back to school on Wednesday so getting this out before then and I'll try get another one out after that. Sorry for the slow updates :/

Jade paced around the waiting room, she'd been in to see her father Arthur but couldn't take the guilt looking at him unconscious hanging onto life injured. Fleur had gone to the small hospital cafe to get them both drinks, and one for Bill and Molly.

Jades eyes stung tears threatening to form, but she refused to let them form let alone fall that was something that she wouldn't let happen. Not in a hospital full of strangers.

it's not something her father would want, he lived life prioritising the good parts, happiness and fond memories. He always taught them if something unimportant didn't make you happy why do it? Jade applied that to her daily life even subconsciously.

Though the thought crossed her mind that this was indeed something very important, Arthur Weasley was in a hospital bed fighting for his life that was definitely something of the upmost importance.

Her chest was tight it felt like there was no air in her lungs, it had crept up on her before she even realised the sensation was coming on yet she kept pacing, mind going a million miles a minute.

Before she could even fully process that feeling she was hyperventilating fighting desperately to just breathe. Breathe. She had a grip on her top over the centre of her chest as she tried to no avail to control of her breathing.

The only thing she could think to do was to go, anywhere but there. She walked...ran...to the nearest stairwell and sat down in the corner of the landing. Letting go of her top she constantly moved her hands around to try something anything to ground herself as the feeling of raw guilt and panic surrounded her internalising in jades chest. So thick it felt like it wrapped itself around her soul.

Her hands were shaking desperately as she felt the circulation drop. Her hands felt numb but she could see them shaking and moving yet she couldn't feel it.

Jades tears were falling now as she clawed at her arms just trying to feel something again, it felt like the world was silent. The only sound she hadn't subconsciously tuned out in her panicked state was a ringing in her ears.

She tried cracking her knuckles which she would usually do when she was stressed but if they did crack she didn't feel nor hear it. Her arms were scratched, nothing serious as her nails were short but those white trails on her skin had showed where she had scratched.

She also didn't hear the stairwell door fly open and Fleur walk through them almost going upstairs to look for her when Jades quick and sharp echoed breathing betrayed her location. She also didn't see Fleur as she moved her numb hands into her short red hair pushing it back off her face as her vision went in and out of focus.

Fleur immediately rushed to her side calling to her but she seemed in her own world. "Jade, Jade, JJ, cheire, baby, Jade."Fleur desperately tried to get Jade to a place she could at least hear her. The sight for Fleur was gut wrenching she'd never seen Jade this worked up. Or cry. Well happy and angry tears yes but genuine tears of raw sadness? No.

Fleur knew Jade was a deeply family oriented person, and reacting like this proved it. Arthur wasn't even dead. He may be close but he wasn't deceased. It instilled a new fear in the quarter Veela, watching the woman she loved experience loss.

Jade could faintly hear her and looked up at her her eyes almost pleading, "Jade breathe, breathe wis me, focus on me. It's going to be okay. Just in and out, in and out,"Fleur came into focus and she took Jades hand in her own trying to get her to slow down her breathing.

And it was working, very slowly her breathing slowed down, she could feel her arms again because she felt Fleurs soft hands in her own. Her vision stabled itself again and she could hear everything again nothing was tuned out anymore. Her breathing was still quite quick and definitely rattled and raspy but it wasn't as bad as before.

The feeling of guilt remained it was no longer as tight as it felt before, it just sat in the pit of her stomach looming in the background. "It's my fault..it should've been me not him.."Jade croaked out still trembling slightly "if he didn't volunteer to cover me for tonight he would be okay...it's my fault..it should've been me."

"Stop. Stop saying zat right now. Do you really zink 'e would want you saying zat? I may not know 'im well JJ but I know 'e wouldn't want you zinking like zat." Fleur ran her thumb over jades hand "you can tell 'im 'ow you feel when 'e wakes up and you can 'ear it from 'im yourself."

"He's stable...alive?"Jade trembled desperately.

"Yes."
