My head was resting against the cold metal of the plane. I felt nervous as I realized I would be part of a task force with experienced men, including the legendary Simon Riley, also known as Ghost. I let out a long sigh and rubbed my forehead. What have I gotten myself into? I stopped myself from thinking further, knowing it would only lead me to overthink. I couldn't afford to lose my nerve in front of my new task force.

As time passed, the plane suddenly shook, waking me from my thoughts. I saw the pilot giving me a grin. "Well, mate, this is your stop. Knock 'em out," I smiled back beneath my mask. "Will do, sir." I laughed, and he mirrored my action. Maybe this won't be so bad. I grabbed my duffel bag and adjusted my clothes. I took a deep breath and hopped off, thanking the pilot. I zipped up my black hoodie and put the hood over my head. I walked onto the cold cement path that led to a big base, its gates in grey and the base green. A bunch of trees were swaying in the wind, leaves dancing around as if there was no tomorrow. I opened the metallic door with the key card given to me. The door made a beep, and I looked ahead to see an old man with a fisherman's hat and a hearty beard, as well as normal military clothing. He smiled at me, putting out his hand for me to shake, which I took gracefully. "You must be Copper, right, mate?" He laughed, his eyes crinkled. "Yes, sir," I said, and I saw his eyes widen. "So they weren't joking. You're a female." He laughed while ruffling my hair. I laughed along and followed him down the halls. I clutched Roache's dog tags and the necklace Levi had gifted me. I miss that man more than anything.

Flashback
I laughed as Roach fell down the hill we were sitting on as he tried to throw a grape into my mouth with the picnic he prepared for us. I laughed more hearing Roach cursing and yelling my name. I wiped my tears and helped him, to which he glared at me. "Geez mate, couldn't help?" He glared, to which I laughed at.

"ROACH PLEASE STAY WITH ME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!" I yelled clutching the bloody body of my friend. I didn't like this. I couldn't believe it, hoping if I chanted his name enough, he'd rise from the dead, but I knew he wouldn't. It's just what I wanted to believe. It didn't feel real how could death take a person out of your fingers with the snap of his finger? How could I let Roach die? How could I be so careless? I sobbed, clutching his body with a tight grip, promising I'd never let go, knowing I'd have to. "I'm sorry, I'm so fucking sorry, Roach. Please forgive me." I pleaded, knowing if I was watching him, he wouldn't have gotten shot at. His eyes stared at me as if he'd never seen it. He let out one final breath before I felt his body become numb as if he allowed himself. More tears pricked my eyes as I clutched harder, my knuckles becoming white. "please, please,e, please st, op, s, top, please come back to me!" I yelled, burring my head in the crook of his neck. My heart swelled with emotion, and I felt his hand on my thigh, not gripping it, but it was, so I looked down to see his dog tags. He knew he was going to die. I opened his hand carefully and read the paper with scrawny handwriting

Y/n I'm sorry I had to go like this, but I loved you not in a friend way but a like like, you know? It's not you're fault, but I wanted to let you know you keep going for me, beautiful."

My heart ached as I clutched the paper the only thing I'd remember him by. The only thing that could bring me comfort.

End of flashback.

"You okay mate?" Price asked looking down at me. I snapped out of my thoughts and nodded.
"Well then here's the team." He smiled opening a door to which I stood behind him. I heard him yell, and he began introducing me, "This is copper. You will treat them with respect and not cause any fights, understand?" He yelled to which a bunch of men yelled ' Yes sir!' he then nodded and moved so the team could see me and when I looked around I heard a voice one very familiar.

"Y/n?"
