Lyla's POV:

I stormed out of my father's office, seething with anger. How could he do this to me? I'm 27 years old, for crying out loud! I don't need a babysitter. I've been doing just fine on my own. I didn't use my real name at school or with my friends, so no one knew who I really was. Why did my father feel the need to hire someone to watch over me? And of all people, her. Aliyah. She was...different. I couldn't deny it. She was hot, in a tough, no-nonsense kind of way. But still, I didn't need some bodyguard following me around.

As I stepped into the elevator, my mind began to wander back to Aliyah. My heart started to tighten, and my breathing quickened. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. This wasn't a panic attack; it was just my body reacting to the thought of Aliyah. I hadn't had a panic attack in years, not since I was a teenager. I thought I had outgrown them.

The elevator doors opened, and I stepped out, clicking my heels on the floor as I made my way to my car - a bubblegum pink Mercedes Benz. I loved that car. It was my escape, my freedom.

As I drove away from the building, I couldn't shake the feeling that my father was trying to control me again. He always did this. He always tried to dictate what I could and couldn't do. But I was an adult now. I made my own decisions.

Aliyah's POV:

I stood before my new employer, Mr. Rose, with a professional expression. "Do you wish for me to follow her, sir?" I asked.

Mr. Rose pinched his nose, sighing, and leaned back in his chair. "Why doesn't she realize I'm doing this for her own good? I know she can handle herself, but she's my only child, and I'm not getting any younger. I want her protected. I know what lies in wait at those parties and clubs she goes to at night. I know what kind of monsters are lurking. I just want to make sure she's safe."

I looked at him with a hint of concern. "Mr. Rose?" I said, clearing my throat to get his attention.

He looked up, and I continued, "I understand your concerns, sir. But perhaps it would be better if I got to know her first, gained her trust. Following her without her knowledge may only lead to more problems."

Mr. Rose shook his head. "No, I've made up my mind. I want you to follow her, keep her safe. I don't care if she knows or not."

I nodded and saluted. "Yes, sir!"

With that, I followed Lyla in my black and gold sports bike, keeping three cars behind her so she wouldn't notice me. I put on my sunglasses and sped off, my eyes fixed on the pink Mercedes Benz ahead.

As I followed Lyla, I couldn't help but notice how carefree she seemed. She was laughing and smiling, completely unaware of my presence. I felt a pang of guilt, but I pushed it aside. I was just doing my job.

As the day went on, I continued to follow Lyla, observing her every move. She was a fascinating person, so full of life and energy. I found myself enjoying her company, even from a distance.

Eventually, Lyla arrived at a small café, where she met up with a group of friends. They laughed and chatted, enjoying each other's company. I watched from across the street, sipping on a coffee and trying to blend in.

As the afternoon wore on, Lyla and her friends decided to take a walk in the park. I followed them, keeping a safe distance. They were carefree and happy, enjoying the beautiful day.

As they walked, Lyla stumbled upon a small pond. She smiled and sat down on a bench, gazing out at the water. Her friends continued on, leaving her alone for a moment.

I saw my chance and approached her, trying not to startle her. "Mind if I join you?" I asked, nodding towards the empty space beside her.

Lyla looked up, surprised, and then smiled. "Not at all," she said, scooting over to make room for me.

We sat there in silence for a moment, watching the ducks swim in the pond. Then, Lyla turned to me and asked, "What's your name?"

"I'm Aliyah," I replied, trying to sound casual.

Lyla's eyes narrowed slightly, and I wondered if she suspected something. But then, she smiled and said, "Nice to meet you, Aliyah. I'm Lyla."

I smiled back, feeling a sense of relief. Maybe this wouldn't be so hard after all.

As we sat there, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful Lyla was. Her eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and her smile lit up the entire park. I felt a pang of attraction, but I pushed it aside. I was here to protect her, not to get involved with her.

We chatted for a bit, exchanging small talk. Lyla was easy to talk to, and I found myself relaxing in her presence. But I knew I couldn't let my guard down. I had to stay focused on my job.

As we talked, I noticed a suspicious person lurking around the park. He was trying to be inconspicuous, but I could tell he was watching Lyla. I immediately went on high alert, my instincts kicking in.

"Lyla, I think we should go," I said, trying to sound casual.

Lyla looked at me curiously, but she nodded and stood up. As we walked away, I kept a close eye on the suspicious person. He followed us, trying to stay hidden.

I knew I had to act fast. I quickly pulled out my phone and sent a text to Mr. Rose, alerting him to the situation. Then, I turned to Lyla and said, "Let's get out of here. Now."

Lyla looked at me with a mixture of fear and trust. She knew something was wrong, but she didn't know what. I took her hand and pulled her through the crowd, trying to lose the suspicious person.

As we walked, I could feel Lyla's heart racing. She was scared, but she was also trusting me to keep her safe. I felt a surge of determination. I would protect her, no matter what

We finally lost the suspicious person in the crowd and made our way back to Lyla's car. She was shaking, and I could tell she was trying to process what had just happened.

"Who was that?" she asked, looking at me with wide eyes.

"I'm not sure," I replied, trying to stay calm. "But I'm going to find out."

Lyla nodded, still looking scared. I knew I had to reassure her, so I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay," I said. "I'm here to protect you. You're safe with me."

Lyla looked up at me, and for a moment, I thought I saw something more than gratitude in her eyes. But then, she looked away, and the moment was gone.

As we drove back to her father's building, I couldn't help but think about what had just happened. Who was that suspicious person? And why were they following Lyla?

When we arrived at the building, Mr. Rose was waiting for us. He looked worried, but relieved to see Lyla safe.

"What happened?" he asked, turning to me.

I filled him in on the details, leaving out nothing. Mr. Rose listened intently, his expression growing more and more concerned.

"We need to increase security," he said, turning to Lyla. "You can't be too careful."

Lyla nodded, still looking shaken. I knew she was trying to be strong, but I could see the fear in her eyes.

As the day went on, I couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility towards Lyla. I had to keep her safe, no matter what. And I knew I would do whatever it took to protect her.
