The early morning light crept through the gaps in my blinds, painting soft stripes across my room.
My alarm clock felt more insistent today, dragging me from sleep with an unwelcome urgency.
With a groan, I rolled out of bed, feeling the weight of another monotonous school day pressing down on me.
I did my hair in a sleek bun and got dressed, i went for or a navy maxi satin skirt and a white thin knit sweater while listening to music i applied just a hint of makeup, barely enough to meet my parents' standards.
I love buying make up, i love wearing it. I can't wait to the time when i can do freely my makeup without judgments.

I walked down the stairs, already smelling the aroma of burnt toast. My mother's frustrated sigh filled the air. "You're going to be late if you don't hurry!"
I get her point. Sometimes. I wake up close before i leave because i'm used to my routine, i think the night before of my outfit so i don't need much time in the morning.

I grabbed a banana and a apple and put my lunch in my backpack, avoiding the usual breakfast debate. My Big Brother came into the kitchen making himself his breakfast before his zoomcall, he's already in college.
"Have fun in school, don't talk to boys" he spoke with his toast in his mouth.
I rolled my eyes laughing.

Today, I decided to walk instead of taking the bus, but last second i picked my bicycle.
The crisp morning air and the rhythmic crunch of leaves beneath my wheel offered a welcome break from my thoughts.
I passed by a small park, where a few early risers jogged by, their breath visible in the cool air. Some with their dogs, everyone living their own life.

When I arrived at school, the usual chaos greeted me. Eliza, with her ever bright smile, was waiting by the entrance.
She called out, putting her arms around me, her enthusiasm a sharp contrast to my mood.

"Hey, Eliza," I responded, my voice still heavy with sleep.
"How can you drive with a bicycle at this time?" She laughed, shaking her head while i put my lock on it.
"You should try it, it's so calming you don't even need music."
Our walk to our first class was filled with chatter, but today we got into a new topic, our plans for the upcoming summer break. Eliza was bubbling with excitement about a potential road trip, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I listened, intrigued but slightly overwhelmed by the thought of such a big adventure.

As we entered the school, the scent of freshly cut grass from the nearby sports field wafted through the open doors.
It was a welcome distraction from the looming first period of History.
The classroom was filled with the usual groans as Mr. Thompson began his lecture, but today, my mind wandered to thoughts of summer and escape.
*Will we go on vacation as a family?*
*Will we stay here?*
*What will i do all those weeks? Staying at home??*
*God.*
I shook my head, concentrating about Mr. Thompsons talking.

After History, I found my seat in the Art room.
I'm not good at painting, but i can lose myself and think of something different while painting.
Today, I started a new piece, focusing on vibrant colors and abstract shapes, hoping to channel my restless energy into something beautiful.
Gratefully i put my headphones on, our teacher believes that you can do your best with music.
*love you for that, ms.levinger*
