The next morning, I awoke with a strange sense of anticipation.
Yesterday's events played on repeat in my mind.
The house was empty as always,
my father at work, my brother at his university while my Mother is probably still sleeping.

As I walked through the front gates of the school, I noticed how the usual chatter and bustle seemed muted, as if everyone was holding their breath, waiting for something to happen.
The overcast sky, heavy with dark clouds, mirrored the feeling in my chest.
It was as though the whole world was on edge, caught in a moment just before everything changes.

First period was History, and I slid into my usual seat, trying to shake off the unease. Mr. Dawson's lecture on post, war Europe droned in the background as I scribbled notes half-heartedly,
my mind wandering back to the events of the previous day.
I could still see Milo's face, his soft smile as he sat next to me on the bus.
The way his eyes had sparkled with something unspoken, something I couldn't quite name.

Halfway through the class, my phone buzzed quietly in my pocket.
I glanced down and saw that it was a text from Kyren.
-"Meet me after class. Near the football field. Need to talk."-

My heart skipped a beat in confusion.
What could he possibly want to talk about? The way he'd looked at me in French class yesterday flashed through my mind, his eyes full of a confidence that both intrigued and unnerved me.

When the bell finally rang, I packed up my things quickly and made my way to the football field.
The grass was damp from the morning dew, and the air smelled fresh, with a hint of rain to come.
He was already there, leaning casually against the fence, his arms crossed over his chest, looking every bit the cool, confident guy that everyone seemed to adore.

"Aurela," he said, his voice low and serious as I approached.
"I've been thinking a lot about you. About us."
His words took me by surprise.
"Us? What do you mean?"
He pushed himself off the fence and took a step closer, his gaze intense.

"I mean, there's something here. Between us. I know you feel it too."
My heart pounded in my chest.
I didn't know what to say. Kyren had always been a flirt, but this...this felt different.
It felt somehow wrong?

"Kyren, I—",
Before I could finish, he reached out and gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, the one that annoyed me but i was to focused on what to say than to brush it away.
He is a sweet guy but the feeling in my stomach didn't feel good, and i didnt know why. I mean i like Kyren since years.

"I see the way you look at me, Aurela.
And I can't stop thinking about you."
I was caught in the intensity of his gaze,
my mind spinning.
But can't believe that while he was confessing, my thoughts where with Milo,
of the way he'd seemed so vulnerable yesterday, and my heart twisted in confusion.
Why do i think so much about these two guys.
But Kyren's words, his presence, were like a magnet, pulling me in.
