───────────── BORN TO DIE
THIRD PERSON - CHAPTER THREE

BEFORE she knew it, Katya was running. Her feet his the ground hard and fast, the wind blowing her hair as her chest rose and fell rapidly. She picked up speed with each step, the bitter wind making her eyes burn.

She didn't bother to look behind her. She didn't know whether someone was following her, or if she had managed to escape unseen, but she'd rather not find out.

Below her, her heels burned, the bare feet below her doing their best to carry her forward. She swallows the lump in her throat, gritting her teeth as she pushed herself to go forward. She wasn't sure where she should go, or how to get there, but she ran. And she didn't look back.

KATYA snapped back into reality as a fist punched her in the nose. She let out a groan and her head fell forward. She was bloodied and bruised, but most importantly confused. The events that had just played in her mind vanish as if nothing happened, leaving her curious.

She looked up to Ajax as he smiled down to her, the grin on his lips eerie and mocking. She scowled at him and mocked his gesture, her lips forming a smile as well. Her gums bled and her teeth were stained a red. Her face muscles ached as she made the gesture, but she couldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing he was pained.

Slowly, after months of wear and tear, after years of pain and suffering, day after day of torture, she slowly but surely became weaker. The thought of giving in and letting go has crossed her head more times than she'd like to admit.

But she couldn't let this man know that.

She let out a sigh and leaned her head back in the chair she was fastened to. A few ribs of hers were broken, making the movement excruciatingly painful, but she still did it, letting out a laugh.

She put the pieces together as Francis's smile faded. His brows knit and his hands fall to his sides, his fingers unclenching.

And for just a second, Katya swore she saw a hint of fear flash behind his eyes.

It was as if the man thought she had gone mad.

"What are you laughing at?" He spat, kicking her in the shin. She didn't flinch, didn't react, only looked at the ceiling mindlessly. Blood trickled down her face as she laughed, the sound growing louder.

"Nothing." She said. As she spoke the taste of metal fills her mouth. She swallows, embracing the taste of blood she had gotten used to. She closed her eyes and let out a breath of victory, lips curling even wider.

Deep down she knew she won. She watched it first hand. She saw how it unfolded. She saw that she got away, that she was able to run. She saw that she was able to slip from Francis's grasp.

And she could practically taste the victory as it danced on her tongue. And god did it taste good. She laughed again, earning a look from Ajax.

"Knock it off." He spat. She could hear the nervousness in his words, practically feeling the sweat drip down the back of his neck.

She shook her head, the movement feeling as though she was drunk. The room around her was slow, the drugs that had been pumped into her veins to keep her down causing her surroundings to spin.

"Fuck you." She spat, her words slurred. She felt insane, but great. While her mind spun, her limbs feeling heavy and her heart founding inside of her chest, knowing she was going to break free made it all feel better.

She had finally turned- finally 'became something greater'

And would finally make a run for it just as her vision had played out

The man scowled, making his way closer to the woman and grabbing her chin. He tightened his grasp and kept her gaze toward him. "You little shit."

Katya rolled her eyes and threw her head forward, smashing it into his nose and watching him stumble back. He gasped and let her go, stumbling back and reaching up to his nose. He scowled, muttering something under his breath.

He left the woman's view, striding to where he'd be unseen and taking care of the blood that trickled down his nose. He stood behind her and grabbed a cloth, holding it up to his nostril.

As Ajax tended to his swollen nose, Angel came into view, her face stern and angry. A Match laid between her lips, chewing on the edge with her teeth. She crossed her arms, then after just a moment, she retreated out of the woman's view.

"I hope that leaves a mark." Katya remarked. She stayed silent for just a moment and listened quietly for a response, furrowing her brows when she hears nothing. Her breathing slows and she strains her ears, still hearing nothing.

Their presence was no longer felt in the room and she smiled. But before she could act, she's suddenly viewing her surroundings as if she was watching a camera. She seemed to see things as if she was in a third person video game or in an out of body experience.

She moved her head, watching from above as it moved simultaneously. It was odd, almost nauseating.

The view confirmed nobody else was in the room and then flashes back to first person. Her eyes widen and her heart beat picked up.

She swallowed the lump in her throat and let out a breath but she wasted no time to make a run for it.

Her hands searched the chair she sat in and she winces as her finger brunches against a sharp nail.

She prayed it wasn't rusty, then aligned the ropes that bound her wrists together with the nail. She rubbed it back and forth continuously, the rope fraying until it finally snapped.

Then, she pulled her arms around, ripping off the rope the rest of the way, then pulling off the rope around her ankles.

Then, she took in a deep breath and ran, not looking back.

So... for those of you confused about her powers, she has foresight and third person viewing. ( As a last minute decision, I decide to add the second one. ) She basically can see into the future and have like, an out of body experience, seeing her surroundings like a 3rd person video game. She can still fight and move as normal while viewing from above, the only difference is she can see herself and her surrounding as she does it. I think this will make fight scenes bad ass but I also think it's kinda lame.

What do you think?
