"Mito-san, are you sure about this?"
I lower my voice, bringing the microphone closer to my mouth.

"Of course I'm sure."
Her response comes out of the phone slightly muffled, "Im not letting Gon follow in his footsteps blindly, he has his entire future in front of him." She speaks, sounding uncharacteristically cold,

"I'm not letting him repeat Ging's mistakes. Never again."

I flinch at the mention of his name. As much as I agree with my aunt, it still feels wrong. "What if he finds out? What then?" At this point im just voicing out my thoughts, even though i already can guess the answers.

I walk through the crammed morning market, squeezing in between groups of people while holding my phone tightly, while also making sure the katana is still strapped on my back. I wouldn't be surprised if they got stolen in this crowded area.

I hear mito-san sigh through the speaker. "Gon will be upset. Maybe even mad for a few days —or weeks. But he will eventually understand why you did it. Do not let him pass the exam, Gem."

I clutch my phone tighter, "understood."

A click and a beep signals the end of the voice call. My jaw clenches subconsciously as I stare at the phone, before hesitantly sliding it back to my front pockets.

To divert my focus from the conversation in my mind, i strain my eyes to look over the the nearby buildings, in an effort to find the venue location. This was -however- proving to be difficult the more I look around, as people are flocking around the market in large numbers. Getting pushed around in a crowded street was NOT on my checklist today.
