My feet hit the ground in rapid succession as I ran through the forest with adrenaline rushing to great heights. I've been running for what feels like a long time but I couldn't just stop. that was because of the raging, 5-meter-sized wolf barreling towards me. Apparently, dropping a whole tree onto it to buy time for me to get a head start would only prove to anger the dog. should've accounted for that. but nevertheless,

My foot gets caught on an exposed tree root, causing my legs to instantly tire out. I was in this situation and needed a plan of escape. "Oh jeez!!" I yell before tumbling to the ground. "Oh, c'mon, not like this!" I scramble to get up as I hear and feel the wolf coming closer as its feet stomped the ground with such force and body weight that each step caused a rumble that I could feel both physically and in my soul. I managed to get back on my feet and start running again. pushing past the exhaustion I feel in the moment.

"C'mon, there's got to be something I can use against this thing!?" I start rummaging frantically inside my makeshift bag that I had fashioned the day before from leaves and vines. my hands ruffled the inside, but nothing was there that could aid me in this scenario, as all I had was my pal, the Listening Rock, and a bunch of berries. "Gah! why'd I pack so many berries!?" I yell frustratingly.

I peeked back at the wolf behind me and saw that it was already gaining up on me. "Oh God!" I screamed in a panic as I tried to pick up the pace but the Wolf decided to end this game of chase as it jumped over my tiny body while I looked up at its underbelly while it soared towards the front of me then landing, causing me to make a hard stop, which made me slip and end up on my buttocks. "Please, Mr. Wolf! I didn't mean to drop a whole tree on you, even though I did mean it—please don't gobble me up!!" I pleaded and cried out as I tried to make a 180 and run from it.

The wolf was quick, however, as it used its teeth to bite onto my leafy bag and used it to toss me up several feet into the air. "No no no no no, no, no!" I yelled as I began to descend and fall right into its gaping maw, which was positioned right under me. I closed my eyes and braced for my end. but then there weren't any. instead, I heard the voice again.

Repeating to me the same thing I heard in my dreams over and over again. "As Doom encroaches upon this wicked land, be the light that guides their way," and once that phrase echoed, my eyes shoot wide open and I saw myself facing the inside of the wolf's mouth while I held it wide open with both my hands and feet. "Oh jeez, oh jeez, oh jeez!" after realizing what I'm in, I quickly began to try as hard as I could to keep its mouth from closing.

The wolf was not too pleased about this. so much so that it started to flail around, trying to get me off or to have me lose grip and fall in. but luckily, with my built-up strength from surviving in this forest, I managed to hold on while the mutt angrily whipped its way around and around, back and forth, back and forth. unfortunately, my bag was hanging on my hairline, and after the wolf used it to sling me into the air, its teeth ripped the sling a bit, which caused it to tear.

Also, with all the flailing, the thin string of vine holding it together snaps as it falls down the throat of the wolf. "NO! Listening rock!!" I cry out in sadness as my only companion was now in the belly of the beast. I couldn't mourn for too long, though, as my hand slipped off of its teeth, launching me out of there and into the air again. "Woah!!" I fall back down and land on top of the wolf's snout this time as I hug it to keep myself from falling off while I stare right into its eyes.
