During the next few weeks, Hyunjin panicked. Although he would never admit it or even show it, he was truly panicking. He kept watching for the signs of pregnancy, always keeping his eyes trained on Felix while the omega cooked, watching to see if any foods made Felix sick. He always woke up early and waited for Felix to run to the bathroom to throw up, and he waited for any mood swings. Nothing happened.
He knew he was being weird, and he knew that Felix could tell. He was more distant around Felix, which killed him because he wasn't doing it intentionally. He was just worried that the omega was pregnant, and that was scary. He didn't want babies and he hasn't even told Felix yet.
So, that's why on the fourth week of being strange, he woke up in the morning, took a deep breath, and told himself that today was the day that he would tell Felix everything. He figured four weeks was enough time to wait and see if a pregnancy was happening. Unfortunately for him, once he woke up, he couldn't fall back asleep. And, unfortunately for him, that was the morning that Felix woke up with a start and darted towards the bathroom, barely falling to his knees before throwing up.
Hyunjin could only stare at Felix's hunched figure in shock. Are you kidding? Of all the days. But then again, it could just be the flu. He knew of a few other omegas in the pack who had just gotten over the illness. That was the thought that got him out of bed and moving towards the bathroom, kneeling behind Felix, who was dry-heaving pathetically, his body shaking.
"Poor baby," he rubbed his hand up and down Felix's back in soothing, circular motions. "What's gotten into you?" Please don't let it be a baby, please don't let it be a baby.
Felix coughed and shook his head. Hyunjin listened to him dry-heave a few more times before the omega was finally done, slumping back in Hyunjin's arms. His skin was clammy and he was whining miserably. He felt Felix's forehead, sending a silent thank you when he found that it was warm. So it might just be the flu.
"Let's get you back into bed," he said, lifting Felix up into his arms. He held the omega up as he brushed his teeth and sipped some water, barely keeping his blue eyes open. Once Felix was finally ready, he carried his ill omega back into the bedroom and sat him down safely on the bed.
Once Felix was burrowed under the covers, Hyunjin laid next to him. "Tired," Felix whined, curling up next to Hyunjin, as close as he could possibly get. Hyunjin could do nothing but wrap him up and kiss his forehead.
"Sleep now, darling," he instructed, casually running his fingers across Felix's tummy. It didn't feel pregnant, but then again, he had no idea how it was supposed to feel.
"Stop," Felix said roughly, eyes closed. He pushed Hyunjin's hand away from his stomach. "Just wanna sleep."
Hyunjin took his hand away and settled it on Felix's hip instead. He didn't want to agitate the sick boy any more than he already was. For now, he just needed to focus on Felix while he was sick, rather than worrying about a baby.
---
It turns out, the flu was going around, and there were a few omegas throughout the group sick, including Felix. Hyunjin was thankful that he had a strong, alpha immune system when he saw how pathetic and whiny Felix was. He meant that in a good way; being sick makes anyone pathetic and whiny. He's sure that if he could get sick, he would be the biggest baby ever.
He tended to Felix as much as the boy asked. He ran errands to the little clinic they had set up on the grounds for fever reducer and he made Felix endless cups of hot tea and rubbed his back while he got sick over the toilet. He would carry Felix back to the bed each time and make sure that he was warm and comfortable before laying behind him and rubbing his stomach until he fell asleep.
