Seven days later, Felix was standing tiredly in a small airport in Wonju, cradling Yongjin, who was fussing a bit. Hyunjin was standing at the counter, chatting with someone who worked for the airline, and Jisung was making sure that Eunji was comfortable in his lap. Minho was in the little gift shop, hoping to buy some things to keep himself entertained for the upcoming seventeen-hour flight.
It was five twenty in the morning, and Felix was tired. He'd been up all night with Yongjin, and when Yongjin woke up at three and decided to stay up, Felix had no choice but to stay up too. He hated it but he loved it at the same time. And he only glared at Hyunjin a few times while rocking the infant in his arms.
"Stop pacing," Jisung said tiredly. He rested his head in one hand and rubbed Eunji's head with the other. Felix slowed down but he kept pacing.
"Can't. Pacing gets him to sleep faster," Felix whispered, supporting Yongjin's head with his palm. "And I really need him to sleep so I can sleep."
"Just have Hyunjin take care of him for a few hours," Jisung suggested, stifling a yawn.
Felix rolled his eyes. "Yeah, okay. Hyunjin doesn't even get up with him at night anymore. He's not going to sit with Yongjin for seventeen hours while I sleep." Which was true. Hyunjin had broken his promise of getting up with Felix every night, and he neglected to see when Felix really needed to sleep. It made Felix furious.
"He'll have no choice. I doubt that he'll wake you up once you're asleep."
Felix just shook his head. "I'm not even going to try to sleep. I'm just glad that I was able to bring his carrier."
"I thought you were just going to hold him on your lap?" Jisung asked. He had planned to do that with Eunji, but he too brought her carrier.
"I was, and I probably am, but I want him to be safe if something goes wrong. And turbulence and whoops--right out of my arms," Felix replied. He looked down at Yongjin, who had finally settled. He was sleeping peacefully now. Felix sighed in relief and sat next to Jisung.
"Finally asleep, I take it?" Jisung asked, cracking a small smile.
Felix nodded and leaned back, closing his eyes. "Finally. I just pray to God that he stays asleep while we board and take off. I already know I'm going to panic, and I really don't want him stressing me and everyone else out with his crying."
Jisung placed a sympathetic hand on Felix's knee. "I'm sure he'll stay fast asleep."
Felix didn't reply. He just kept his head tilted back and tried to block out some of the noise so that he could at least get a fifteen-minute nap in. That, of course, was quickly squashed when he heard Jihyo and Suho's voices, followed by the rowdier voices of some of the other alphas of the pack. He groaned and lifted his head up. Hyunjin was making his way over to his mother and Suho, and Chan, Changbin and their omegas broke through the crowd and made their way into the gift shop, presumably to get some food. A few other alphas that Felix knew the names of but couldn't recall mingled behind Suho and Jihyo.
"What time is it?" Felix asked Jisung. With the airport seemingly louder, he let the little dream of getting any sleep fly away.
Jisung looked at his phone. "Two thirty-three," he replied.
"Do you want to go and look around the gift shop?" Felix asked, standing up. He was careful not to jostle Yongjin. Jisung nodded and stood up alongside him, lifting Eunji into his arms. She was now supporting herself and Jisung could prop her on his hip. They made their way into the gift shop and stayed to the side where the alphas weren't. It was too early to deal with their noisiness.
"Need a snow globe of Korea?" Jisung asked, pointing to a shelf of them.
"I'm good, thanks," Felix replied, shaking his head. "Living in Korea is like living in a snow globe. Fitting, hm?"
