Kion x Vitani: The Greatest Lovestory

Part 6: Family Over All

Kion followed Simba and Kovu from about 100 yards away. He was watching them very carefully, hoping and praying that Kovu had experienced a change of heart and no longer wanted to kill his father. They to Kion, Simba, and Kovu's suprise, Zira's Pride surrounds Simba, and it looks bigger than it did 3 years ago when Kion single handedly defeated them all.
"What!? No! I had nothing to do with this!" Kion heard Kovu say.
"Yeah, right." Kion thought in his head. Zira's Pride starts to attack Simba. Kion immediately sprints over to help his father fend off the assailants. Kion comes flying in and kicks multiple lionesses off of Simba. All of the lionesses who didn't get attacked immediately back off, as they are startled. Kion gets into his fighting stance in front of his injured father. He briefly makes eye contact with Vitani before he addresses Zira's Pride.
"All of you back away from the King! NOW!!" Kion demands.
"Well, if it isn't Kion, coming to protect his pathetic father?"
"The only thing that's pathetic is you trying to avenge a tyrannical murderer!" Kion growls.
Zira gets angry, but she controls it. "Well, we will succeed. We have you outnumbered, Kion! We will kill you and your father! Then, our avenge for this quote, unquote 'Tyrannical Murderer', will be complete!"
Kion laughs. "Do I need to remind you what happened last time you had me outnumbered?" This line got Zira angry very fast.
"ATTACK!!" She shouted at her pride.
"Dad, run!!" Kion yelled to his father as he fended off the attackers. Simba did as his son told him, limping as he did so. Vitani saw this and sprinted past Kion to attack Simba. Kion tried to grab her but missed. A lioness lunged at him, but he kicked her away quickly, then he took off after his dad. Many of Zira's lionesses took off after Kion. Kion was closing in on his father and Vitani when he saw a cliff that they were closing up to.
"Dad! Lookout!" Kion shouted in desperation. Simba saw the cliff and tried to slow down, but Vitani caught up to him and tripped him, causing him to go over the cliff. "NOOO!!" Kion screamed as he saw his father go over the cliff. Kion sprinted past Vitani and dove head first into the canyon, then he unsheathed his claws and dug them into the cliffside to slow his fall. After a bit, he pushed off the cliffside and landed by his injured father. "Dad, are you alright!?" Kion asked.
Simba got up slowly. "I'll be alright, son. Thanks for coming to my aid."
"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!? GET THEM!!!" Zira cried from the top of the cliff. Kion looked up and saw lots of lionesses coming down the cliff, too many for Kion to fight. Leading the charge is none other than Vitani.
"Dad, we gotta go! Now!" He throws one of Simba's arms over his shoulder, and the two run towards a log pile, Zira's Pride close in pursuit.
"We're gonna have to climb that, dad!" Kion tells his father. The two climb up it, Simba in front, so Kion can push Simba up the log pile.
"KOVU! KILL THEM!!" Kion hears Zira yell behind him. To Kion's horror, he sees Kovu standing atop the cliffs near the log pile. Kion could've sworn he heard Kovu say, "Quick! This way!" But he told himself it was his imagination. The father and son make it to the top of the log pile, but he slips and falls back down the log pile.
"Dad!" Kion screams. Simba digs his claws into the logs and stops his fall. To Kion's horror, he sees Nuks climbing up the log pile. "Take my hand!" Kion cried out in pure desperation as he got on his belly and extended his hand down towards his father. Simba goes to grab Kion's hand, but Nuka catches up to Simba and digs his claws into Simba's ankle.
"This is it! This is my moment! This is the day I make you proud, Mother!" Nuka says as he starts to pull Simba down. Suddenly, Kion grabs Simba's hand and pulls him away from Nuka's grasp and onto the top of the log pile. Kion picked up his father and tossed him off of the log pile and onto the safety of the cliff top. This knocks Nuka down the logs pile, and it traps him under some of the logs at the bottom of the pile. Kion then jumps up to where he threw his father, the log he pushed off of tumbling down the pile and towards Nuka. Once at the top of the cliff, Kion sees this and roars at the log, which shatters it into splinters. Kion turns back to his father.
"Are you alright, dad?" The son asks. Kion notices he is bleeding pretty badly in his midsection.
"I'll be fine, son," said an exhausted Simba. "Just get me back to Priderock." After saying this, he proceeds to pass out from blood loss.
"Dad? Dad!" Kion tries to wake his father up, but to no avail. Kion picks up his father, puts him on his back, and walks as fast as he can back to Priderock.
"Kion! I heard you roar! Is everything okay?" Ono says, flying alongside Kion.
"Zira's Pride have returned, and they won't stop until me and my father are dead!" Kion tells Ono.
"Hapana!" Replies Ono after seeing the passed out king on Kion's back.
"Ono! I need you to round up the rest of the guard and tell them to meet up at Priderock!" Kion instructs.
"Affirmative!" Ono Replies. A few minutes later, Priderock is in sight. Suddenly, Kiara, Timon, and Pumba all come running up.
"Kion! What happened to dad!?" Kiara asks, very startled after seeing her father's unconscious body on Kion's back.
"Kovu lured dad into an ambush by Zira's pride." Kion explained. "We need to get him to Rafiki. Now!" They get back to Priderock, and Rafiki closes all of Simba's wounds. It is not long before Simba wakes up.
"Dad! You're okay!" Kion and Kiara both say. The two kids hug their father. Simba gets up after his children stop hugging him, in seemingly way less pain than Kion saw him in when he was last awake. Suddenly, a ruckus occurs  on and near the ledge of Priderock. Simba goes out to see what it is, followed closely by Kion. The father and son both see that Kovu has come walking up to Priderock, sporting a fresh scar over his left eye.
"You have a lot of nerve showing your face here after what you did!" Kion yelled at him.
"Your Highnesses, I swear that I had nothing to do with the Ambush!" Kovu answers.
Kion and Simba look at each other and nod. "I pass judgment onto you now!" Everyone got quiet to hear what the King would say. "EXILE!!" Simba yelled.
"NOO!!" Screamed Kiara from behind, who is being held back by her friends Tiifu and Zuri. All of the animals gathered at Priderock start to move in towards Kovu, who proceeded to run away towards the border, looked back at Priderock one last time before crossing it.
"Father! Please reconsider! I know him, and he would never do something like this!" Kiara begged.
"What makes you think that he can be trusted?" Simba demanded sharply.
"He loves me!" Kiara blurted out.
"He used you to get to me!" Simba responded immediately.
Kiara looks around desperately. "Kion! Help me out here!" She pleaded.
"All I know is I had to rescue dad from a dangerous position Kovu put him in. Whether he meant to or not is beyond me." Kion told his sister.
"He's going to follow in Scar's footprints! So I have to follow in my father's." Simba continued.
"You will never be Mufasa!" Kiara cried as she broke into tears and ran into the den. This comment she made received offended expressions from both Simba and Kion. About an hour goes by before Kion goes to check on his sister.
"Hey Kiara, you in here?" He called.
"No, she's not. She left through that hole." Said Kopa, who was woken up from his nap and pointing at the hole in the back of the cave. Kion rushed out of the cave.
"Dad!" He called.
"What is it, Kion?" He asks.
"Kiara is gone!" Kion tells his father.
"Kion! Simba! I have bad news!" Ono said as he flew up to them and landed in front of them.
"What is it, Ono?" Kion asked.
"We've spotted Zira's Pride. They are coming to attack Priderock! TONIGHT!"
