Kion x Vitani: The Greatest Lovestory

Part 11: Turn of the Tides.

"So the two greatest threats to the Pridelands came back, and you didn't think to tell me?" Vitani asks her new husband.
"I didn't see a point in dampening the mood of our special day. Besides, the Lion Guard and I got it handled, no damage done." Kion answers.
"Well, what about your mood? You could have told me, and we could have postponed the wedding."
"Vitani, I can never be in a bad mood when I see you, and I wasn't going to let that come between us or anything else from here on out." Kion says.
"Tell us what we need to do to help, son." Simba requests.
"I don't think that'll be necessary. They were all surprisingly easy to beat. Too easy, almost..." Kion falls off.

6 months later...
Vitani is now 9 months into her pregnancy and due to give birth anytime within the next week. She is talking with Kiara as the two wait for their hisbands to come back (Yes, Kovu and Kiara got married during the 6 months I was too lazy to write about).
"So, you guys are having twins, right?" Kiara asked Vitani.
"Yeah, Rafiki told us to expect a boy and a girl." Vitani replied.
"Ooh, that's exciting! Do you guys have names for them yet?" Kiara asked.
"Yeah, for a boy, we agreed on Mkali (Fierce in Swahili) and Malaika (Swahili for angel) for a girl." Vitani told her.
"Those are cute names, but I'm not sure if you should have your kids' names starting with the same letter?" Kiara suggests.
Vitani laughs. "Okay, Kiara, sister of Kion and Kopa."
Kiara's eyes go wide, and then she bursts out laughing. "I don't know what I was thinking."
Suddenly, the Lion Guard, with Kovu, appears back on Priderock.
"Ladies! How's it going?" Kion says to greet the two girls.
"Oh, hey Kion, Kovu, Lion Guard. Kiara was just asking me about baby names." Vitani explains.
"Yeah, it's crazy that Mkali and Malaika are going to be here this week." Kion responds.
"So how'd patrol go?" Kiara asks.
"No sign of them anywhere." Kovu answers. "There hasn't been since the night of Kion and Vitani's wedding."
"I don't like it." Kion says. "They must be waiting for us to let our guard down to attack."
Vitani rubs Kion's arm. "It's alright, Kion. You're going to be a father by the end of the week. Don't let them ruin it for you."
Kion takes a deep breath. "Thanks, Vitani. How'd you like to take one last sunset walk around the kingdom before the kids are born?"
Vitani smiles. "You know the answer to that." They give each other a quick kiss before Kion, Kovu, and the rest of the guard to do their workout.
"Hey, you mind if Kiara and I join you two? It's just been a while since Kiara and I have done something together." Kovu asks Kion.
"Yeah, sure!" Kion says to Kovu. "But in return, I need to see a new PR on squat."
"Deal!" Kovu said as he shook Kion's hand. Kovu ended up breaking it by 5 lbs.

At sunset...
Kion and Vitani were walking hand in hand, followed closely by Kovu and Kiara, who were also walking hand in hand.
"Kovu, Vitani. Do you guys remember this place?" Kion asks them.
"Yeah, isn't this where you met Kion, Vitani?" Kovu asks.
"Yeah. Crazy to think that was 10 years ago now." Kion says.
"Oh, I just have to hear the story of how you guys met." Kiara says.
"Alright, so this was my 9th birthday, and I was just wandering around, I don't even remember what I was doing when I walked over here and saw Vitani, Kovu, Nuka, and some other cubs that were in Zira's Pride at the time playing basketball." Kion starts.
"Yeah, and I remember him coming up to us and asking if he could join." Vitani continued.
"I remember Vitani saying that if he wanted to play with us, he'd have to prove he was tough enough. I mean, you know the way that Zira had raised us, so we were on a whole other level of competitiveness and aggression." Kovu said.
"I had absolutely no idea that he was the future king at the time, so I told him that if he wanted to play with us, he'd have to beat me in a fight."
Kiara's eyes went wide. "Really!? How'd that end?"
Kovu and Vitani both looked at Kion with a "You do the honors" look. Kion returned this with a "Really guys?" Look.
Kion sighed and said, "Let's just say that that's the only fight I've ever lost, and the only fight I intend to lose." Kiara's eyes went wide again. "You mean to tell me that Kion actually lost a fight?!"
"He didn't just lose. He got absolutely dominated!" Kovu said.
"So how'd you two become friends then?" Kiara asked.
"Well, I decided that the feeling of losing a fight, especially to a girl, is something I'm never going to feel again. So I went home and asked dad to teach me how to fight."
"The next day, I remember him asking if he could play with us again, and I remember thinking,'Uhg! This guy again!' I asked him if I needed to give him another beating, and he said word for word, 'I'll be the one giving a beating!'"
Kiara burst out laughing. "You really said that, Kion!?" Kion nods. "So how'd this fight go?" Kiara asks.
Kion smiles. "Well, she gave me my first loss, so I gave her her fist loss."
Kovu's mouth is in a straight line, and he is nodding. "I've never even seen Vitani have a close fight up until that point, let alone the speed run that Kion did. I remember starting the fight, and Vitani charged in to tackle Kion, but then Kion gets overhooks on her and he picked her up, threw her down, then he flipped her over and choked her out."
"Wow." Kiara says. "So, can I get some details on how the first fight went?"
"My self-esteem can't afford to relive that." Kion said, smiling. Everyone laughs.
"Your self-esteem won't be able to recover from us killing you!" Zira says, jumping out of the bushes. Kion quickly looks around and sees that Zira, Scar, and the Night Pride have them surrounded, but he sees that the Night Pride have unsure looks on their faces. Kion, Kovu, and Kiara jump up and circle around Vitani to protect her.
"So, this is my son, huh? He looks just like me." Scar says.
"I'm nothing like you, Scar!!" Kovu yells.
"It's not like you were worthy of replacing me anyway." Scar says.
Zira notices that Vitani is pregnant.
"Why, Vitani! You weren't just going to not invite me to my grandchildren's birth now, were you?"
"Why would I!? You tried to kill me!! Who knows what you would do to them!!" Vitani shouts.
"Enough chatter! Night Pride! Attack!" Scar commands. Kion looks behind him and sees that the Night Pride is not there.
"Traitors!!" Zira yells. Scar and Zira attack the trio, but Kion kicks them both out of the air.
"KION!" Vitani yells. Kiara and Kovu fight against Scar and Zira while Kion sees what's wrong. "Kion, it's time! My water broke!"
"Now!? Our kids don't have very good timing!" Kion responds. He picks Vitani up and he runs as fast as he can back to Priderock without dropping her. He gets her to the Lion Guard lair and sets her down on their bed. "Rafiki! It's time!" Kion yells. Vitani is taking deep breaths. "RAFIKI!!" Kion yells again. Vitani cries out in pain as she has a contraction. Kion and Vitani look around and see that there is no one other than them in there.
"How... are we... the only ones... in here?!" Vitani asks as she is breathing heavy.
"Stay, here. There has to be someone in the main den." Kion tells his wife as he runs out of the lair. He goes to the main den. "Hello?" He calls out. Suddenly, his family, Rafiki, and the Night Pride emerge from the den. Kion gets in a defensive stance. "Night Pride! What are you doing here!?"
"Relax, Kion. They're on our side now." Simba says to his son.
"They are?" Kion asks.
"Yeah. After hearing Scar and Zira's plan today, we knew that we had been tricked." The leader says. "I'm Rani, leader of the Night Pride, and Queen of the Tree of Life." She extends her hand for Kion to shake. Kion does so.
"I'm Kion, leader of the Lion Guard. Queen, huh? That's impressive. " He introduced himself.
"So what was it you needed Kion?" Nala asks her son.
"Yeah, Vitani's water broke, so I kinda need Rafiki." Kion explains.
"We can help!" Rani says. "This here is Nirmala," She grabs the other lioness in the Night Pride. "She is the best healer in the Tree of Life!"
"Alright, this way!" Kion leads Rani and Nirmala to Vitani.
"Kion, who are... they? And where's... Rafiki?" Vitani asks.
"I think Rafiki is in his Tree. This is Rani and Nirmala. They are members of the Night Pride, don't freak out, they're on our side now. They'll be helping you until I find Rafiki." Kion explains.
"Have... Kovu and... Kiara come back?" She asks.
"No, not yet. I'll go check on them, then grab Rafiki on the way back. Alright?" Kion asks his mate.
"Okay." She says before she screams in pain again.
"Take care of her. She's my everything." Kion says to the two Night Pride lionesses. They both nod. Kion runs back to the spot where he left Kovu and Kiara at. He looks around and calls for them for a few minutes before finding their unconscious, bloody bodies. He also found a trail of blood that wasn't their's leading away from their bodies and going towards the Outlands.

There is Part 11 in the books. I bet that you weren't expecting that ending. I'm going to try to get a chapter up once every two days, but I don't have anything planned for tomorrow, so I might be able to get another part up tomorrow.
