"And what gave you the smart idea to give your girlfriend detention? I'm honestly surprised you are still sitting here. I would have expected Andromeda to rip you into pieces by now."
Ominis groaned as he buried his nose into his arms, laying them on top of the table in the Great Hall with the feeling of regret building in the pit of his stomach. Meanwhile, Sebastian focused on the roast in front of him, cutting off a portion of his chicken with a knife. "Ominis, be honest with me. Did you give Andromeda detention out of pure spite because of Amit? Because if so, jealousy does not bore well with you, my friend."
Ominis had no idea what came over him last night. He was starting his patrols in the dungeons out of habit due to a group of first-years that seemed to enjoy causing trouble and staying out past curfew. He had just left the common room when he heard the sound of familiar footsteps rushing past him and caught a whiff of lavender.
Andromeda.
He normally would tease her for being out past curfew or for losing her touch to sneak by prefects undetected. Maybe even insisted that he needed a kiss to get her way out of detention. But, he was still unsettled with Andromeda choosing to spend her time with Amit rather than with him. And gods, the argument that they had the other night in the common room had his head reeling in confusion and then she dared to question if he even loved her anymore!
Of course, he did! What sort of question was that? His heart merely beats for her alone!
Ominis didn't want to admit that he was jealous, but after having another sleepless night and reflecting on everything that had happened, he knew that deep down he couldn't deny it any longer that he was filled with envy. Unfortunately, he must now deal with the consequences of his actions. Andromeda has made herself scarce all day, not even making an appearance in the Great Hall. None of her friends have seen her nor would they tell him if they had an inkling of her whereabouts.
Is she hiding in that damn room of hers again?
"Mate? Are you alright?"
Sebastian's question shook Ominis out of his daze and brought him back to the present. "No. I need to find Andromeda and try to salvage the current state of our relationship, but no one has seen her all day and I still have to do my patrols tonight."
Sebastian chuckled and wiggled his eyebrows, giving his friend a smug look. "Well, luckily for you, I will be gone for the next few days with our quidditch team since we're attending the match between the Harpies and Catapults. That means..." He elbowed playfully at Ominis's side and said, "You have our room entirely to yourself."
"Sebastian..."
"Now, I do ask to stay on your side of the room and-"
"Would you sto-"
"SALLOW."
Imelda's voice echoed through the Great Hall as she marched through the door, making her way straight to the Slytherin table.
Sebastian's fork dropped his fork onto his plate, his jaw hanging wide open. "Help. Me."
Ominis rolled his eyes and turned his head to the sound of Imelda's boots scraping across the floor. "What did you do now?"
"I don't know! But I swear she's staring right into my soul and wants to rip my throat out!" Sebastian tried to hide underneath Ominis' arm. "Quick! Maybe she won't see me!"
"I highly doubt it, especially since you're asking someone who is blind to hide your sorry arse."
Imelda suddenly appeared behind Sebastian and Ominis, her eyes fixed in an intense stare with her jaw clenched. Sebastian was about to make his plea when she grabbed both Sebastian and Ominis by the ear and yanked them away from the table.
