"Good morning!" Will smiled, taking a seat next to Nico in their shared English class.

"..Hello..?" Nico responded hesitantly, glancing up from his shoes.

"I'm Will, Percy's friend. We sit together at lunch?"

"Oh," Will could've sworn he saw a hint of a smile on the boys lips as he spoke, "I'm Nico but i suppose you already know that."

"Well, its nice to meet you either way," Will felt as though he was glowing, every fiber in his body twitching at this interaction. He tried his best to always be friendly and go out of his way to talk to people, but he knew everyone at his school by now. They rarely got new kids considering how small their town was so he almost never got the chance to talk to new people.

Until Nico showed up.

So what could he say? He was excited.

He opened his mouth to say something else, anything to keep the conversation running when Mrs. Dodds walked into the class.

Of all the people to be subbing for this class, the last one he wanted was Mrs.Dodds. She hated pretty much everyone so it made being in her class a living hell.

This also meant that they would have to be dead silent, meaning he wouldn't be able to get to know Nico.
