I was still on the edge. My eyes didn't leave Kasey for a second. When she was running out the door with Daniel to walk to school, I silently followed. I was keeping myself in the cover of the trees.

When they made it to school and went their separate ways, I glued my eyes onto the door that Kasey skipped into. Scaling up a tree, I kept on alert waiting for anything dangerous to appear.

After an agonizing seven hours I heard the last bell ring and a sea of students swarmed out. None of them were Kasey. After waiting another 10 minutes Kasey finally walked out. She sat down against the school wall and frowned towards Daniel's school.

That eerie feeling crept up and gave me cold shivers down my spine. My fur spiked up as my eyes darted around. Something was here.

I glanced back at Kasey and saw her coloring in a coloring book, having no awareness to the danger that was near. I caught a shadow emerging from the trees. I stalked over to as close as I could using the branches of the trees.

The man walking up to Kasey looked horrid. His greasy black hair was all over the place as if it hasn't been washed or combed in ages. His tattered clothes were full of holes and stains. His face unshaven held a wide grin and walked towards Kasey with a predatory stance. Just as he made his appearance Kasey looked up. Her face scrunched up and she sniffed the air, and her face slowly turned to horror. I knew for a fact that Kasey did not know this man.

The creepy man stalked up to her and reached out to grab her and muffled her cries." Awe the Alpha's poor defenseless little daughter. I wonder what he would want to get you back." He ran his finger down Kasey's cheek as she screamed louder. He chuckled. "Hasn't he taught you to behave."

I readied myself to pounce down. This man is not taking Kasey away. I leapt into the air with a loud war cry. My claws coming out and ready to use. I landed on the mans neck and sunk my claws in. I bit the best spot that I could. His ear.

I man cried out and let go of Kasey. Hopefully she would have enough sense to run. The man grasped at my fur, it wasn't until he managed to grip my collar that he threw me off of him. Stupid collar. I hauled myself up and launched myself at him again. Stupid man had turned his back. I crawled up his back like a mountain climber and made sure to yank my claws out of his skin in the most painful way possible. I bit and scratched any part that I could.

I tried to mutilate his face making him have something to remember me by. I jumped down and bit his ankles and legs. He attempted to grab at me but I was too fast. I heard a loud growl and next thing I knew something sharp skimmed my side.

I glanced up in absolute horror when I realized this man has his own set of claws. His hands and face had dark grown hair sprouting out. His eyes were animalistic and pure black. I saw him bearing down at me and I pounced at him once again. Shoving his head into the brick wall of the school. He collapsed to the ground and slammed his head down again one the concrete. Completely unconscious.

My side was on fire. I looked over and saw blood slowly seep from the flesh wound. Forget it, Kasey in my main concern. I snapped my head up in search of her and saw her hiding behind a tree sitting down with her hands wrapped around her knees. I shake my head in bewilderment. A creepy man comes up to you, man handles you and you don't run away as far as you can? I didn't understand this little girl.

I made my way to Kasey and sat at her feet. Glancing around for anymore danger. I hear a car pull up and shoes slapped across the pavement.

"Kasey! Kasey!"

"Kasey!"

Kasey's parents scream for her. I hear a small whimper behind me, and I immediately go to her side and rub my head against her. I sit on her lab in a protective stance. I didn't want anyone near her.

"Oh Kasey princess." Kasey's mom comes running up.

Too close for comfort. I leap off Kasey and hiss at her as loud as I can. I hear Kasey's dad walking over and I turn around and hiss at him as well. Daring for any of them to get any closer to Kasey.

"Oreo? Oreo you have to let us see Kasey please." I backed down a bit, what am I doing? I laid down gingerly and rest my head on my paws and close my eyes. A sign for them to proceed. I hear Kasey's parents rush towards her. I hear crying from both Kasey and her mom as they embrace each other.

Exhaustion takes over me as my eyes stay half closed. Suddenly I hear a scream. "Kasey is that blood!"

I hear Kasey sob. "It's not mine mommy, it's Oreos!"

With that darkness takes over me and I sink into the dark abyss that claims me.
