MIDORIYA'S POV

Bakugo came down the stairs with his phone pressed to his ear. "Yes, tonight will be fine. We can have dinner." He paused to check the time. "Around seven or so. That sounds great. See you then," he said before ending the call. It's Saturday, so he doesn't have work.

I looked at him, raising a brow as if to ask who was coming for dinner. He noticed and answered. "My parents. They want to see the kids, and just so you know, I am still pissed at them for telling Eijiro that we were at Disney, so expect that to be brought up."

He placed his phone in his pocket before saying, "They were already in town doing some shopping and had a hotel for the night. My mom figured it was best not to stay here."

I nodded so he knew I understood. This dinner would not be all sunshine and rainbows. "I still have to go to the store anyway. I will pick up the stuff to make chicken piccata." We have been home for about four days, but I have not been to the grocery store. We have been ordering food or going out.

Bakugo nodded at me and said, "That sounds good. It's been a while since we had a home-cooked meal." He paused before adding, "You know we can order in one more night. It is the weekend, and you are technically off."

"No, I want to." I smiled, trying to conceal the shame I felt for not shopping or cooking for the family. It's my job, after all.

I think he read my mind. Bakugo walked up behind me and said, "You go ahead and do what shopping you need to. I got the kids." His understanding and support were comforting, and I nodded at him as he put his hand in mine and squeezed it slightly.

It took me an hour and a half at the store to get everything we needed to restock the kitchen. Once I returned home and had everything put away, I started preparing dinner. "Damn, that smells so good. I never did ask you who taught you to cook so damn good?"

I wonder if he really wants to know the answer to that. I had one too many plates full of food smashed against the wall because Tenya was unsatisfied with the food I made. "Oh, umm. I am pretty much self-taught," I said, knowing that if I hadn't taught myself to cook at least a few things well, I would regret it. After working here and cooking for a family, picking up a recipe and following it is no big deal.

He smirked at me, his pretty red eyes impressed. I smiled at him as I flipped the chicken over to finish cooking. "Dinner should be ready in the next twenty minutes or so," I said as he took his phone out and called his father. He is the least mad at him. Sometimes, I feel sorry for that man. Bakugo's mom can be overwhelming.

"They should be here in the next fifteen minutes." I heard his voice as he grabbed the plates from the cabinet and silverware from the drawer. I drained the garlic butter noodles and plated them on the plates Bakugo had set out for me. The doorbell rang just as I got the last plate to the table.

The kids came down the stairs from the play area, followed by their dad, who had Kimi in his arms. Bakugo handed her to me before going to answer the door.

We all sat around eating and lost ourselves in small talk. "Wow, that all sounds like it was a lot of fun," Bakugo's father said as Hanako and Kenzo told him about some of the places we went.
