As the two boys approached the door to Sunghoon's house Jake felt a wave of nerves hit him.
"We're here..."
Sunghoon reached his hand out to find the door, once he did he knocked. Soon after, the door opened slightly. Then fully.
"Hoonie?"
"Hey mom..."
Jake felt himself freeze from fear. That was Sunghoon's mother...
"What are you doing home right now?"
"...can we come in please..."
"Oh! Of course sweetheart"
After that, his mother opened the door completely and Jake led Sunghoon inside, where Sunghoon gently let go of Jake's hand.
"I'm gonna go upstairs and change..."
Jake nodded and Sunghoon walked to the stairs, as he walked up he trailed his hand along the wall.
He knew his way around his home, he didn't need his white cane or Jake's hand, he left all on his own.
Jake smiled at him as he walked upstairs.
"Come here sweetie"
Jake turned his attention from Sunghoon to his mother. He was definitely nervous, he was meeting the mother of the guy he.... 'Liked?' he didn't really know what he felt, so as his mind and heart went crazy with different thoughts he just did as he was told.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Jake Sim, nice to meet you Ms. Park"
Sunghoon's mother smiled and patted the seat next to her on the couch, to which Jake took as a hint and sat next to her.
"You put your Surname Last?"
She asked him sweetly.
"Oh yeah... I'm a foreign exchange student, from Australia..."
She smiled, his nervousness was pretty clear to her. What kind of mother would she be if she didn't know how kids show their emotions? She was pretty good at it too.
"Is it pretty over there?"
Jake nodded
"If you don't mind the heat, it's really beautiful..."
"I bet you miss home..."
"Sometimes... I was pretty scared of coming here but after my mom passed away and my dad remarried... there was nothing to stay for..."
"How did she pass?"
Jake looked down at his sleeves
"S-She uhh.... She had cancer..."
Sunghoon's mother quickly pulled the boy into a hug
"Oh sweetheart I'm so sorry..."
At that moment Jake realized how lucky Sunghoon was to have such a loving mom, he'd wished his was around to meet them both, 'she'd love them' he thought. And he was right.
His mother was a very sweet woman, she loved Jake with her whole heart and she always wanted him to live a life that was bigger then hers. To travel the world and meet new people, to fall in love and have children...

Jake thought as Sunghoon's mother broke the hug
"What's wrong sweetheart?"
She asked and Jake looked down.
"Nothing... I'm okay"
She smiled and rubbed his shoulder
