Chapter 9

Jake woke up the next morning, next to Sunghoon, he looked so peaceful, like he didn't have a care in the world. The older boy got up slowly, trying as hard as he could to stay quiet. But it was no use, "Jake?" Sunghoon's voice was raspy, his eyes were opening slowly and taking their time to adjust to the light in the room. "Sorry, did I wake you?" Jake asked as he gathered his clothing.

Sunghoon shook his head as he figured out what Jake was doing. "n-no..." Jake nodded, "That's good." Sunghoon nodded as well, "Get back in bed" Sunghoon smiled, but Jake shook his head in response. "I'm meeting some friends today, you should get some rest" Sunghoon sat at the edge of his bed, staring at Jake cluelessly.

"What friends? Is it Jungwon? Can I come?" Sunghoon added a smile to his face, he and Jungwon became quite close, they texted a lot and even though they hadn't met up in a while the two of them got along really well. "No, It's not Jungwon, It's just a friend of mine." Sunghoon nodded slowly as he watched Jake - finally fully dressed - walk out of his room.

It didn't quite hit him fully, not for the first ten minutes or so, till it did. 'Was my first time.. a one night stand?' Sunghoon stared at the wall as he thought. It wasn't possible. Jake wouldn't do that to him... would he?

Sunghoon quickly got dressed and ran after Jake as quickly as he could. He needed an explanation. Jake told him he loved him, so why would he run away now? It made no sense.

"Jake!" The younger boy caught up to him, grabbing his hand as he tried to catch his breath. "Sunghoon? Why are you-" Jake was cut off by the younger boy who looked straight into his eyes. "Why did you run away? I don't understand Jake... You said you loved me..." Jake noticed Sunghoon's perfect eyes begin to water. The sight of it made his heart melt.

"I.." The older boy stuttered as he felt himself choke on his own bullshit explanation. He knew if he tried to make one up it would be fake. So he just looked at the ground in defeat, he'd never gone this far. Relationships? Yeah, sure. Sex? He was pretty experienced. Love? That's something he never really touched on. Back at his old school he was the popular " playboy" so he never had much experience with falling in love. He wasn't even really sure what it felt like. So why the hell did he say it to Sunghoon? And above all, why did he say it first?

"Tell me Jake! Did I do something wrong? Was I bad in bed? Is it the way I look?" Sunghoon felt his tears begin to fall as he listed everything he could think of. All his worst insecurities.. "N-No, Hoon, it's nothing like that I promise." Jake struggled to hold back tears, he hated himself for making Sunghoon cry, he never wanted to be the cause of pain in Sunghoon's life.

"Was I just a one night stand?" Sunghoon choked on his words as he stared at Jake.

As those words exited Sunghoon's mouth he felt someone turn him around and give him a tight hug. This was followed by two others. Their scents were familiar, he didn't get to see their faces but he knew who they were. Jungwon, Jay, and Heeseung. Did they hear everything? "Its okay Sunghoon" Jungwon had his hand in Sunghoon's hair, allowing the older boy to pour his tears into his shoulder.

Jake felt his own tears fall as he remained frozen, he could move no matter how much he wanted to, all he could do was watch as his best friend Jay looked into his eyes with confusion as he held onto Sunghoon. Heeseung did the same, he couldn't imagine putting Jungwon through this type of pain, and Jake didn't seem like a bad person, so, something must've been misunderstood. He hoped so, at least.

Heeseung let go on Sunghoon slowly and walked to Jake. He pulled the slightly younger boy to a tree that was a little bit far from the other three. "What the hell did you do?" Jake explained the situation to the best of abilities while his tears streamed down his face. "Do you love him or not, Jake?" The younger boy looked down at the floor, "How do I know if I do?" Heeseung placed his hand on Jake's shoulder, "How do you feel knowing you're the reason Sunghoon is crying like that?" Jake looked from Heeseung's eyes back to the floor. He wanted to cut out his own insides and feed them to himself, he wanted to let Sunghoon stab him through the heart as pay back for hurting him, he would let Sunghoon hurt him, over and over again, to make up for how he made him feel.

"You love him, Jake. So stop playing dumb and go tell him that. He wants your comfort, not ours." Jake nodded as he collected himself.

The two boys approached Sunghoon, Jay looked into Jake's eyes and nodded, he knew his best friend was going to fix this. Jungwon on the other hand, was very hesitant, but heeseung and Jay trusted him, so he took a step back as well. "Hoonie..." Jake embraced the younger boy, placing one hand in his soft hair and the other on his waist. "I love you... a lot." Sunghoon finally gained the strength to raise his hands and hug back, gripping the hem of Jake's shirt like that was all he had left. "W-why did you run away..." Sunghoon asked as his tears fell on Jake's shoulder.

"I've never... I've never been with someone like you... I've never been so sure about my feelings, and that scared me... I'm so sorry I hurt you, I'll never do it again." Sunghoon pulled back slightly and looked into Jake's eyes. The blonde moved his hands and gently wiped Sunghoon's tears. "Please don't cry, Hoonie.. I'm not going anywhere.. And if you'd allow me, I'd like to be your boyfriend.." Sunghoon's eyes widened and he felt a smile creep onto his face.

"REALLY?!" He jumped in excitement. "Yes!" Jake smiled and Sunghoon excitedly placed his lips on the older's. "Is that a yes?" Jake asked in a laugh and Sunghoon replied, "YES! OF COURSE!" He yelled. In all the happiness he was feeling he totally had forgotten, Jungwon, Jay, and Heeseung were even here.

He quickly turned around and one again felt whiplash at the sight of the three boys in front of him. None of them looked remotely real. He felt his eyes get caught on Jay's. It was strange, but the whole world slowed down, he heard every breath Jay took and for a second he felt the boys eyes lock on his own.

Jungwon stared at Sunghoon and traced his gaze when he felt it go on a little too long, Jake and Heeseung did the same. All of these boys felt a wave of confusion as their eyes landed on Jay? Jake and Jungwon made eye contact both noting the other's confusion. As the eye contact between Jay and Sunghoon broke the younger boy immediately looked down at the floor. "S-Sorry, my vision went blurry and I kinda spaced." Jake felt a wave of relief. "You guys look nothing like I pictured, in a good way of course." He smiled, and Jake wrapped an arm around him.

This is all he ever wanted... He found someone who loved him, someone who loved him no matter what.

As the days kept passing, Sunghoon and Jake visited their favorite spot together almost daily, they watched the stars and planned their future together, they would be together for the rest of their lives. That's all they wanted, they would be together till one day they'd meet again in the stars.

"I love you."
