as Jake stared at the woman with obvious fear in his eyes he saw a smile form on her face as she looked back at her sons pictures.
" ...its been 7 years since I've seen my boy smile... "
you could really hear the pain in her voice as she spoke, and it cut right through Jake
" It's been so long... I forgot how his laugh sounded... "
As rough tears rolled down her cheek she gently grabbed hold of Jake's hand and looked at the boy in the eyes.
" I've been trying for 7 years to see him smile again... and you did it... thank you "
Jake nodded
" you don't need to thank me... "
she smiled and nodded as she let go of Jake's hand.
" Go head up, I'm sure Sunghoon's cold. "
Jake looked back at the woman in shock that she saw them together, she giggled
" I needed to make sure you were both okay... "
he let out a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his neck causing the woman to laugh
" relax... I'll forget by this morning. "
after Jake ran upstairs to Sunghoon's bedroom she grabbed her mug with water in it and headed back to her bedroom with a soft smile on her face.
as Jake walked back into Sunghoons bedroom he was greeted by the faint sound of the boys little sighs, then he noticed him sitting in the corner of his bed, playing with his long sleeves that belonged to Jake's favorite sweater.
" hoon... why are you awake? "
Sunghoon looked up and towards Jakes voice
" I was cold... "
Jake let out a warm chuckle as he sat next to the boy and let Sunghoon lay his head on his shoulder. His hair was soft and smelt like ice... it was a weird but clean scent. Something he could get used to.
After a long five minute silence Jake mustered up the courage to ask a burning question.
" Sunghoon... a-are you... by any chance... g-gay...? "
Jake looked towards the boy slowly, just to see that the boy was sleeping sound on his thigh, where he laid his head without Jake even noticing. Causing Jake to smile.
The next morning Sunghoon woke up warm, and to the scent of what he called 'home' his face buried in Jake's chest.
" Jake... wake up "
He heard Jake's breathing slow down and turn into quiet sighs
" we have school "
Sunghoon gently rocked the boys shoulders
" get up~ "
the boy sighed and slowly reached out towards Jake's face.
they say when you're sleeping you look at peace... sunghoon wanted to see that look on him...
it never hit him as hard as it did right now.
" I'll never get to know what you look like... "
sunghoon whispered to himself before he got up and got ready for school, while he got himself ready as usual, he could feel his tears falling.
Once he finished getting ready he ran downstairs.
