The morning after his meeting with Fudge, Harry made his way downstairs into the bustling common area of the Leaky Cauldron, with Y/n walking beside him. Y/n, still disguised to appear the same age as Harry and the others, blended seamlessly with the group.
The warm, golden light of the pub contrasted with the crisp morning air outside, and the smell of breakfast filled the room. As they entered, the lively chatter of witches and wizards filled their ears, and a familiar voice called out to them.
"Y/n! Harry! Over here!" Hermione's voice was filled with excitement, and it was impossible not to feel the warmth in it.
Harry and Y/n turned to see Hermione standing near one of the tables, her arms full as she cradled a large, orange cat. Ron was beside her, grinning widely, with Fred, George, Ginny, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley all gathered around.
"Hermione! Ron!" Harry exclaimed, his face lighting up as he quickly made his way over to them. The two friends met him halfway, pulling him into a tight hug.
Y/n grinned and stepped forward to greet Hermione, pulling her into a warm hug as well. "It's great to see you, Hermione. How have you been?" he asked.
Hermione returned the hug, clearly happy to see Y/n. "I've been good! It's so nice to see you both here together. And Y/n, I want you to meet someone." She gently lifted the orange cat so that Y/n could get a better look. "This is Crookshanks, my new cat. Isn't he adorable?"
Y/n's eyes lit up as he reached out to Crookshanks. The cat's large, amber eyes met his, and Y/n smiled.
"Well, look at you," he said with a grin. "You must be the famous Crookshanks I'm hearing about."
To everyone's surprise, Crookshanks immediately nuzzled against Y/n's hand, purring contentedly. Y/n chuckled, clearly delighted by the cat's friendliness.
He gently scooped Crookshanks up into his arms and, with a playful look in his eye, began spinning around. Crookshanks stretched out his paws, his long, bushy tail swishing through the air as if he were enjoying the ride.
Hermione giggled at the sight. "Looks like he's already taken a liking to you."
Y/n set Crookshanks back down gently, giving him one last affectionate scratch behind the ears.
"He's a charmer, that's for sure," Y/n said with a smile, causing Crookshanks to rub up against his leg affectionately before padding back to Hermione.
As Y/n turned to greet the others, Mrs. Weasley stepped forward, her eyes shining with warmth. "Y/n, it's so good to see you again. The children have missed you," she said, enveloping him in a motherly hug.
"And I've missed all of you, Mrs. Weasley," Y/n replied, returning the hug with equal warmth. "How was Egypt? I could hear the boys talking about it nonstop in my sleep."
"It was absolutely amazing," Ron said, his eyes wide with excitement. "The pyramids, the tombs, everything was just—"
"—fascinating," Hermione interjected with a smile. "I wish I could have been there to see it."
Fred and George exchanged mischievous grins. "We didn't get cursed by any mummies, though," Fred added, causing George to nod.
"Yeah, we made it back in one piece," George said with a laugh, "though we did manage to get into a bit of trouble, as usual."
Mr. Weasley, who had been listening quietly, chuckled. "It was a fantastic trip. We learned a lot about their history and had some great family time."
Y/n, who had been quietly listening, smiled at Mr. Weasley. "It sounds like it was an incredible experience, Mr. Weasley. I'm glad you all had such a good time."
