Kenma sat in his secluded room, the dim light from his computer screen casting eerie shadows on the walls covered with pictures and posters of [Name].
The room was a shrine to his obsession, every inch of it meticulously organised to display the objects he had painstakingly collected over the years. From the smallest trinkets to items she had touched or worn, each piece held a special place in his twisted devotion.
His eyes flicked over the collection, a sense of calm washing over him as he took in the sight. Everything was perfect, just as it should be. Here, surrounded by [Name], he felt a strange sense of peace, as if she were truly with him.
But that peace was fragile, easily shattered if something was out of place. Kenma's fingers twitched as he counted the items in his head, his eyes darting from one piece to another.
It was a ritual he performed every time he entered the room, a way to reassure himself that everything was still there, that his world hadn't been disrupted.
When he had first moved into this house, he hadn't realised how massive his room was. Unbeknownst to his parents, Kenma's room had an opening near the corner, which led to another sizable room.
He hadn't created that, he accidentally discovered it when his volleyball made a dent in that area.
Ever since then, that room had become his sanctuary, a secret only he and Kuroo shared.
He then heard a soft knock on his main door, making him crawl out.
Kenma carefully concealed the entrance to his secret room, his heart pounding as he ensured everything was in its rightful place. The soft knock on the main door had startled him, a reminder that the outside world still existed beyond his sanctuary. He moved quickly, yet deliberately, making sure there was no sign of the hidden space before he crossed the room to answer the door.
As he reached for the door handle, he took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of thoughts swirling in his mind.
He opened the door a crack, peeking out to see who it was. To his surprise, it was [Name], standing there with a small, hesitant smile. The sight of her made his heart skip a beat, a strange combination of exhilaration and panic coursing through him.
