Chapter 20: The Rescue and Revelation.

AUTHOR'S POV:

The storm raged on, battering the island with relentless wind and rain. Reevan and Preeti were in a perilous situation, their safety compromised by both the storm and the hidden dangers of the island. Their friends—Neha, Ronnie, Varun, and Vipul—were determined to find and rescue them.

Neha’s steady voice cut through the noise of the storm. “Ronnie, keep the flashlight steady. Varun, Vipul—watch your footing. We can’t afford anyone else getting hurt tonight.”

Ronnie nodded, his usual lightheartedness replaced by a fierce determination. “Got it, Neha. We’re finding them no matter what.”

The rain lashed against them, making it hard to see even a few feet ahead. Varun shielded his eyes, his voice barely audible over the howling wind. “This island… it’s a maze in this storm.”

Vipul, his youthful energy channeled into resolute focus, kept close to Varun. “We’ll get through this. Reevan and Preeti need us.”

After what felt like endless trudging through mud and uneven ground, Neha heard a faint voice—a cry in the distance. Her heart raced. “Did anyone else hear that?”

Ronnie swung his flashlight around, his face lighting up. “Yes! Over there!”

They moved quickly, the faint sound growing louder as they approached a small, weather-beaten cabin partially hidden by dense foliage. Inside, they spotted Reevan, his protective arm around Preeti, whose face was pale and drawn.

“Thank God you’re here,” Reevan’s voice was strained, relief evident in his eyes.

Neha knelt beside Preeti, quickly assessing her injuries. “You’ve been through hell,” she murmured, glancing at the gash on Preeti’s leg. “We need to get her back now.”

Varun moved forward, his usual playful demeanor replaced by concern. “Reevan, can you walk?”

“Yeah,” Reevan nodded, though it was clear he was exhausted. “Just help Preeti. I’ll manage.”

Ronnie and Vipul steadied Preeti, supporting her on either side, while Neha guided them back through the relentless storm. The journey was grueling; every step was a struggle against the elements. But they pressed on, united by their determination to get their friends to safety.

Finally, as they neared the clinic, Vipul glanced at Reevan, admiration in his voice. “You two… really know how to survive a storm.”

Reevan managed a tired smile. “Not without a little help.” He looked at each of them with gratitude.

Once inside, Neha quickly set to work on Preeti’s injuries, her skilled hands moving efficiently. She glanced up at Reevan. “Rest now. You’ve done more than enough.”

As the storm continued to rage outside, the team found a sense of calm, grateful they were all safe together.

Once at the clinic, the storm's fury began to wane. Inside, the team attended to Preeti’s injury and made sure she was stabilized. Reevan, though visibly relieved, was still deeply concerned for Preeti.

As the clinic’s staff worked diligently, the tension in the room was palpable. The group gathered to discuss the night’s events and the mysterious men who had caused so much trouble.

“Those men weren’t just ordinary criminals,” Neha said, her voice grave. “They were involved in something much darker.”

Varun nodded in agreement. “They were part of a human trafficking ring. They’ve been smuggling organs to various countries, and they were planning to use Preeti’s skills for a very specific purpose.”
