Another day, a discovery, something I wasn't prepared for. The news that would change my life. I had powers, just like Supergirl, a legacy ran in my veins but it was suppressed because of what? Why was my mother afraid of me to embrace myself?
Maddie gets up and starts researching her parent's death further.
Starting with the battle in Argo City, the article just explains my escape. I never knew the full story, I was told it was some sort of strike inside the city, and my mother Kara was trying to protect the best she could. So powerless. What about my mom Lena? Why isn't her death reported?
Maddie heads into work at Noonan's. Surrounded by her mother's memories on the walls.
"Hey Maddie"
Alex brings Maddie her favorite smoothie.
"Hey Aunt Alex, I am sorry for how I reacted about everything, but I feel like I need the answers answered. Like why is Lena not on the disappearance?"
Alex sighs
"Originally you were with Kara's grandmother, to babysit you at Argo when your parents and I received the alert the city was under attack"
Maddie plays with a napkin not realising her strength turned it into dust, Maddie eyed Alex shocked
"Okay, but how did I end up here?"
Alex explained gracefully
"Kara wrapped you up in her cape knowing it would keep you protected. I ended up taking you in right away, Kelly was supported with it as well. Lena isn't the article because she's umm, she's still in space actually"
Maddie was shocked by this news
"Wait Lena is still in SPACE?"
Alex tried to calm her down
"She was rescued but she couldn't make it back here"
Maddie silently searched in Alex's eyes for a different answer
"Wow.. did she know I was still alive?"
"She knew but it was too late to save Lena, we tried to find the pod Kara sent her in. We lost signal after the explosion"
Maddie didn't know what else to say
"It's okay Maddie you have me and everyone around you. Yes I will help you train so you can get used to your powers"
Alex handed the necklace Kara was handed by Alura
"Kepp this, you will need it, it'll help suppress the sensory issues"
Maddie smiled
"Thank you"
Not the answers I wanted to hear but at least I got something from Aunt Alex. I've been playing with my mother's necklace the majority of the night dreaming of finally floating above the city honoring my mother's name and keeping it safe again. When my parents died National City has not been the same. I will fight for the lives that were lost on Argo and I will search for my mom, she has to still be out there somewhere.
