The clock read 5:58 am. The enormous marble room was filling up quickly. All of the Volturi were required to be here for the meeting today. Elina had a few announcements to make and she wanted Everyone to know. There were quick and silenced chitter chatter flowing about the room as everyone awaited Mother's arrival.
The double doors to the room open up to revile Elina and Aro by her side. Everyone separated to make a path for her and Aro to walk through. Her and Aro separate once she is seated on the thrown.
Everyone is silent, waiting for her to talk. "I'm sure you all are wondering why I have called you here today. There will be a few adjustments made on today." Everyone listened as she made minor changes to the rules of the court.
Then she turned to Aro. "Aro, I am sure you will be happy to know that you will rule as CO ruler of Volterra, along side me of course."
"Marcus and Caius you two are to be removed as King from this point on."
"But Elina-" Aro goes to protest. I raise my hand, making him stop instantly. "Do not pretend that you actually have an inkling of empathy in you Aro. You only used them as a ploy for more power. This does not concern you any longer."
He looks at Marcus and Caius and then to me, then to the ground. He knew I was right, even if he could never admit it. "That is all for today. You all may leave. Except for you, Marcus."
Aro and the others look at me in suspicion. He knows what I'm to do and I'm positive he hates the idea. But he leaves reluctantly along with the others. I listen out to hear the cacophony of footsteps slowly dissipate.
Stepping down from my thrown I walk over to Marcus and smile. He had that permanent grim expression splashed across his face as usual, but he smiled back lightly all the same. Grim, grim, grim always so grim... I should've done this ages ago.
"Marcus Volturi you have served for a my court centuries upon centuries as our ruler. Your loyalty has never gone unnoticed... well by me at least. But you had something taken away from you that can never be brought back... and for that I am to grant you with freedom. For your loyalty, for your gratitude... and for your loss."
I walk past him and open the huge stone doors to the oval room. In comes Chelsea, a follower of my Volturi coven. She bows before me and then rises.
"You asked of me Mother." I smile warmly.
"Yes, I did in fact. There is something very important I need of you Chelsea."
"Anything Mother." She says calmly.
"Break the bond between Marcus and Aro." I say. She looks from me to Marcus, then back at me surprisingly and fearfully. Her head lowers as if she's in deep concentration, and a few moments later she rises.
"It is done, Mother." I smirk and tell her she may leave, but stop her before she can make it to the door.
"Oh and Chelsea?" I ask. She turns to me, her light chocolate hair drapes down her porcelain neck.
"Yes, Mother?" Her young voice answers.
"There is one last thing I require of you." She awaits for my requirement patiently.
"Your corpse." I finally say, she gasp shocked by my reply. I lunge at her and rip both her arms off as she screams and sever her head from her shoulders. Finally, her body burst into flames with a single glance from me.... Well, that was fun.
I turn to Marcus and can't help but to hate the sight of his face. He still had the same grim look on that face of his, but worse. "The bond between you and Aro has been broken Marcus. You can live... or die as a free man. If you choose. You will never have to feel the pain you've felt again." I say solemnly. I simply hated seeing him like this.
"Didyme did not deserve to die." He finally states, breaking the awkward silence. I nod in agreement. "I know... she was a good woman, and I know that she loved you more than life it's self."
I walk over to him making us now at eye level. "I'll let you decide what you want. You have until the next sunset. God speed Marcus." I leave him in the room, alone to tend to his thoughts.
