ANNAKA'S POV

The only thing on my mind throughout the duration of my ride home from Sophia's house, was Theta. I had gotten her number which was was a good place to start, but what was I supposed to text her and when? I knew I was overthinking it but I genuinely couldn't help it, this was my dream girl and there was no way in hell I was gonna let myself blow my shot. Once I finally got home, I immediately made my way upstairs to my room and started brainstorming

Would a simple "hey" be sufficient? No, I cant seem nonchalant. Nobody likes that. Maybe I could say "hiii". No, that seems too enthusiastic. Maybe I could compliment her on how she looked tonight. That would be nice, nerve wracking but nice. I pulled out my phone and let out a deep sigh, this was it. I could either completely nail it or make an utter fool out of myself. There was no in between

I threw my phone across the room and screamed into my pillow. She thought I looked pretty. Theta Barlowe thought I looked pretty. I felt like I was dreaming. That's when all the sudden, I heard my bedroom door open. "Annaka?" It was my mom. I looked up and gave her an awkward smile "yeah?" She cocked an eyebrow before speaking once again "you okay? I thought I heard screaming." Goddamn it. I nodded vigorously "Yeah, Yeah I'm fine. I just..uhm..saw a spider and it startled me. She nodded her head, though she didn't look convinced

"If you say so." She sighed in response before exiting the room and closing my door behind her. Well that was beyond embarrassing.

THETA'S POV

I was whipped. Completely and utterly whipped. All she did was say I looked pretty, but here I was, kicking my feet and smiling at my phone. Nobody had ever had this effect on me before and it was all so unfamiliar. I didn't know how to cope with my feelings and I needed someone to talk to. That 'someone' being mason.
