Saturday morning arrived, and Ayan felt a mix of nervousness and excitement as he prepared for their meeting. He chose a casual yet neat outfit, hoping to strike the right balance between professional and approachable. As he made his way to the café, he couldn't help but wonder what this outing would bring.
Yok was already there when Ayan arrived, sitting at a table by the window. He looked up and waved, his smile as bright as ever. Ayan felt his heart skip a beat as he approached. This younger man was captivating.
"Good morning, Ayan," Yok greeted, standing up to pull out a chair for Ayan. "I'm glad you could make it."
Ayan smiled, feeling a bit flustered by Yok's gentlemanly gesture and how he flawlessly shifted from calling him Professor to just Ayan without batting an eyelash. "Good morning, Yok. It's good to see you."
They ordered their coffees and settled into a comfortable rhythm of conversation. At first, they stuck to safe topics—art, classes, and their upcoming projects. But as the minutes ticked by, the atmosphere grew more relaxed, and the unspoken attraction between them became more palpable.
"So, what inspired you to become an art professor?" Yok asked, leaning forward with genuine curiosity.
Ayan paused, considering his answer. "It's a bit of a long story. My favorite uncle, Dika, was an artist and a teacher. He inspired me to pursue both art and education. After he passed away, I wanted to honor his memory by following in his footsteps."
Yok's expression softened. "That's really beautiful, Ayan. I'm sure your uncle would be proud of you."
Ayan felt a warmth spread through him at Yok's words. It was rare for him to open up about his personal life, but with Yok, it felt natural. "Thank you, Yok. It means a lot to hear that."
As they continued talking, Ayan began to see Yok in a different light. Beneath the confident exterior was a young man with a genuine passion for art and a depth of emotion that Ayan hadn't fully appreciated before. Yok's vulnerability, especially when he talked about his past, made Ayan realize that there was more to him than he had initially thought.
The conversation flowed effortlessly, and before they knew it, hours had passed. The café buzzed with activity around them, but Ayan and Yok were in their own world.
At one point, Yok reached across the table, his hand brushing against Ayan's. The touch was brief, but it sent a jolt of electricity through Ayan.
"Sorry," Yok said, pulling his hand back with a flirtatious smile. "I didn't mean to..."
"It's okay," Ayan replied, his voice steady despite the rapid beating of his heart. "It's...nice."
Yok's eyes met Ayan's, and for a moment, they were both silent, the air between them charged with unspoken feelings. The memory of their past encounter loomed large, its impact undeniable.
Ayan finally broke the silence. "Yok, you know this is very complicated, right? I know this isn't supposed to happen between a professor and a student, but I can't deny that there's something here. I've been struggling with it and I don't know what to do with it. With you..."
Yok's smile was tender and understanding. "I feel the same way, Ayan. Honestly, maybe my mind can't comprehend what you can because I don't feel scared about this. About us. I know it's complicated, but I believe we can figure this out together."
Ayan sighed, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. "Maybe we can. But we need to be careful. Our relationship has to remain professional in the university."
Yok nodded, his expression serious. "I understand. But that doesn't mean we can't spend time together away from the university, right? Today has been...amazing."
"It has," Ayan agreed, a smile tugging at his lips.
They finished their coffees and decided to take a walk in the nearby park. The conversation shifted to lighter topics, and they laughed and shared stories, the tension from earlier giving way to a comfortable companionship.
As they walked, Ayan found himself increasingly drawn to Yok's energy and enthusiasm. The more time he spent with him, the more he realized how special Yok was. There was a strength and resilience in him that Ayan admired, and he couldn't help but feel a growing affection.
When it was time to part ways, Yok walked Ayan back to his car. He opened the door for the older man.
Yok turned to Ayan with a hopeful look. "Can we do this again sometime?"
Ayan smiled, feeling a warmth in his chest. "I'd like that, Yok."
Yok's grin was radiant. "Great. I'll look forward to it."
Just as Ayan was about to say goodbye, Yok called out softly, "Ayan?"
Ayan turned back, his curiosity piqued. "Yes?"
In a sudden, bold move, Yok closed the distance between them in a few quick steps. Before Ayan could react, Yok's lips met his in a kiss that was both urgent and tender. It was a kiss that spoke of everything unspoken, a kiss that reignited their past connection with a fiery intensity.
Ayan's eyes widened in surprise before they fluttered shut, his heart pounding in his chest. The kiss was brief but electrifying, a moment that seemed to stretch into eternity. When Yok pulled back, his eyes sparkled with mischief and satisfaction.
"I just wanted to say thank you for today," Yok said softly, a playful glint in his eyes.
Ayan stood there, momentarily speechless, as Yok turned and walked away with a satisfied smile on his face. He touched his lips, still tingling from the intimate contact, watching Yok walk to a parked motorcycle. He realized he was smiling too.
