It was a typical day at Suppalo High School. The corridors buzzed with the usual chatter of students, and Ayan moved through his classes with practiced ease. The new principal, Teacher Sani, had implemented several changes, but life at the school had adapted to the new normal.
Ayan found solace in the art room, a refuge where he could focus on his students and his work. As the final bell rang and the last class ended, Ayan was tidying up his supplies when the door creaked open. He looked up to see Akk standing hesitantly in the doorway.
Ayan's heart skipped a beat, a mixture of anger and confusion rising within him. Akk's presence was unexpected and unwelcome.
"Ayan," Akk said softly, stepping into the room.
Ayan's jaw tightened. "Akk. What are you doing here?"
Akk moved closer, his expression a mix of regret and determination. "I came to see you. It's been a long time."
Ayan's eyes flashed with hurt. "A long time? That's an understatement. "
Akk's face fell. "I know. I should have never left. I'm sorry, Shortstop."
Ayan's anger flared. "Sorry doesn't change anything. You can't just come back and act like everything is okay."
Akk took a deep breath, his gaze intense. "I'm not asking for everything to be okay. I just wanted to apologize. I didn't realize seeing you with someone else would be so hard."
Ayan's eyes narrowed. "Hard? Do you think you have the right to be upset about my life moving on after you abandoned me? You're the one who left."
Akk's voice softened, but there was a note of insistence. "You know, I still... I've never stopped thinking of you, Shortstop."
Ayan's face hardened. "Don't call me that. Not anymore. Are you expecting me to call you 'Bigfoot' like I used to? That's a part of the past that's dead and buried."
Akk's face was a mask of regret and longing. "Aye, I miss what we had. I miss you. I can't help but feel jealous seeing you with Yok. I thought I was prepared when I saw the picture Wat posted of you with him, then Khan told me they liked him, and now... now I see you with him, and it's like a knife to the heart."
Ayan's anger was palpable. "You can't just waltz back into my life and expect to reclaim everything you lost. No, I mean reclaim everything you willingly abandoned. You left me without a proper explanation. You ended our relationship abruptly and left me with nothing but questions."
Akk's voice was tinged with desperation. "I know I messed up. That's why I wanted to come, to explain why I left, but I was scared. And now, seeing you with Yok... it's like a cruel reminder of what I lost and what my cowardness had cost me."
Ayan's eyes were filled with tears of frustration and hurt. "I don't want to hear your excuses, Akk. You made your choice. I've moved on. And I need you to respect that."
Akk's shoulders slumped, and he looked down, unable to meet Ayan's gaze. "I didn't come here to cause more pain. I just needed to see you, to tell you that I'm sorry and that I still care. That if you are willing to give me a second chance, I want to make it up to you and assure you I will never mess up again Aye. Please, Shortstop, come back to me."
Without another word, Ayan turned and left the art room, his emotions swirling. He made his way to the ROL garage, where Yok was working. The sight of Yok immediately soothed him, but the weight of the conversation with Akk still lingered.
Yok's concern was evident as he saw Ayan's troubled expression. "What happened?"
"I need to get out of here," Ayan replied, his voice tight. "Let's drive."
Yok nodded, sensing the gravity of the situation. They drove in his motorcycle in silence, the tension between them palpable as Ayan clung to his boyfriend tightly. Eventually, Yok stopped near the beach, and they walked along the shore, the sound of the waves providing a backdrop to their conversation.
Ayan finally spoke, his voice trembling. "Akk came back to the school. He... he tried to talk to me."
Yok looked at him, his heart aching for Ayan and fear gripped his heart. "What did he want?"
Ayan sighed, frustration evident in his voice. "He apologized and said he regretted leaving me. But it felt like he wanted to be a part of my life again like he wanted to reclaim what he lost. And seeing him with his lingering feelings... it's confusing. Don't hate me Yok, I... I don't know... I am feeling so..."
Yok took Ayan's hands in his, his voice gentle but firm. "I understand this is difficult for you. But remember, I'm here for you. If talking to Akk helps you find some closure, I'll support you. I don't want to lose you, Aye."
Ayan's eyes filled with tears. "I just don't understand why he left so suddenly. I need answers, but I also don't want this to ruin what we have."
Yok embraced Ayan, his touch reassuring. "You need to process this, and if it means talking to Akk, then do it. But know that I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. I trust that you'll come back to me"
Later that night, back at their apartment, the air between Ayan and Yok was thick with unspoken emotions. Ayan felt the weight of the day pressing down on him, the encounter with Akk still fresh in his mind, swirling together with the deep affection he felt for Yok. The conflicting emotions left him feeling torn, but one thing was clear—he needed Yok.
Yok sensed the turmoil within Ayan and knew there was only one way he could truly comfort him. He gently took Ayan in his arms, pulling him close. Ayan looked up, meeting Yok's gaze, and in those dark eyes, he saw the same confusion, fear, and love reflected at him. It was as if the world had narrowed down to just the two of them, and in that moment, nothing else mattered.
Their kiss was urgent, almost desperate as if they were trying to convey everything they couldn't say with words. Yok's hands moved over Ayan's body with a tenderness that belied the intensity of his feelings as if he was trying to imprint every inch of him into his memory. Ayan responded in kind, his touch lingering, his fingers tracing the familiar lines of Yok's form, grounding himself in the warmth of his lover.
When they made love, it was with a raw, desperate intensity that neither had ever felt before. Their movements were fluid but driven, as though they were trying to push away the confusion and pain that had taken root in their hearts. Every touch, every kiss, every breath they shared was a testament to the depth of their connection and their need to hold on to each other.
Ayan clung to Yok, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts—Akk's return, the unresolved questions, and the fear of what it all meant. But in Yok's arms, he found solace. Yok's body was a sanctuary, his steady heartbeat a rhythm that Ayan could lose himself in, drowning out the noise in his head.
Yok's own emotions were a tangled mix of fear and determination. He knew that Ayan needed to confront his past with Akk, but the thought of losing him, even for a moment, was unbearable. He poured all his love and devotion into their lovemaking, silently pleading with Ayan to remember what they had built together, what they still had.
As they moved together, the tension of the day slowly began to melt away, replaced by a fierce need to reassure each other. Their actions became more urgent, more intense, as they sought to erase the doubt and fear with each touch. It was as if they were both trying to prove something—to themselves and each other—that no matter what happened, they would fight to stay together.
When it was over, they lay entangled in each other's arms, their breathing heavy, their bodies slick with sweat. Ayan pressed his forehead against Yok's, their lips just inches apart, and whispered, "I'm not going anywhere."
Yok's response was a soft, almost broken, "I know." He kissed Ayan again, slower this time, savoring the connection they shared.
