I don't remember how long I have been awake. The only sound that reaches my ears are my own shallow breaths and the sound of water dripping echoing through the room.I strain my eyes as hard as I can to catch a glimpse of something to give me the assurance that I am still alive, but only darkness stares back at me.
The shadows always seem to catch up to me somehow, no matter how hard I try to escape them. All the senses in my body seemed extremely heightened due to my lack of vision.
Putting a little extra attention to the cutting restraints on my wrists and my wedding dress clinging to my body, suffocating and baring me down with the weight of several lives.
Every piece of the fabric touching my body made my skin crawl as if thousands of bugs were swarming on me.
The frigid metal chair that I've been bound to succeeds in making my muscles go numb, soothing the crawling feeling that ignites every inch of my skin, numbing the pain.
Sighing in defeat I shut my eyes, and weird shapes of sparkles fill my vision, rapidly changing objects; getting bigger or smaller, moving swiftly.
The harder I try to concentrate on one of them the more swift and faster they get. The weird flashes of blobs send a weird tickle throughout my brain.
I read your body tends to do that when your optical input shuts out and your eyes are making sure that they're still working.
It's fascinating how the body has several mechanisms to check up on itself, make sure it's fine, fight to stay alive; oblivious to the fact of what the mind wants.
Because right now I want it to stop trying. Stop trying to keep me alive. I don't think I'll mind if I die today or right this moment because it will only be my body that dies as my soul has long since left this realm.
Overflowing with thoughts my head lulls to the side as my neck refuses to hold it up any longer.
The loud screech of metal interrupts the stream of thoughts racing through my mind, leading me to believe that someone had just opened a door.
As my eyes flutter open eagerly, the light flooding in from outside the door temporarily blinds me, a stabbing pain jolts through my head from the luminous intensity of it.
