The train ride was long, and during a stretch while out of a tunnel and going across an open field, Yuta decided to try messing with his cursed energy and attempt to meld it with aura.
[due to an action, a skill has been gained: Malevolent Aura; Lv 1 0%: Manifest cursed energy within Aura, and change the color to match one's cursed energy. This 'Cursed Aura' is stronger, denser, and defends against semblances and things that normally bypass Aura. This Aura also terrifies anyone capable of sensing Aura, and attracts grimm to the user. Costs enormous amounts of cursed energy.]
"Yutie!?"
"Yuta?!"
Yuta turns to look at the shellshocked Ren and Nora, who are both sweating and trembling. He drops the technique. "My bad, guys. that's part of my semblance."
They warily look at him, before focusing back on looking out the window.
'Yuta...' Rika's voice whispers in his mind, able to do so because of their covenant. 'yes, Rika?'
'the conductor of the train is about to commit suicide with a bomb vest'
"what-"
A blinding light comes from their right, and the door to the front of the train is blown off its hinges, as blazing heat and near-blue white flames wash over the three teenagers. Yuta, being closest to the door, is forced to manifest his Cursed Aura again, barely managing to negate the damage the explosion would have done.
However, a chunk of melted/blasted-off metal hits Yuta in the head, breaking his Aura and knocking him out.
Yuta! Let's-
Yuta slowly opens his eyes, groaning lowly as Ren shakes him awake. "Wake the fuck up, Yuta. we have grimm to kill."
Yuta gets up, shaking his head to clear it. he sees the train is stopped on the tracks, and a city is visible in the distance. however, approaching from the direction of the walled city is a massive amount of grimm. Werewolf-like creatures made seemingly of black tar called amalgam, with bone spikes and a bone mask...Beowolves, bear-like creatures made of the same amalgam...Ursa, both minor and major, and most worryingly, is a giant snake-like grimm, it being absolutely enormous compared to even the largest of the Ursa.
"...dang..."
'Rika...can you give me my sword, please?'
'of course Yuta!'
Out of Yuta's shadow, a katana emerges, saya and all. Yuta pulls it out, slides the saya into his belt, and draws the sword. Ren looks completely dumbfounded.
"...where did that sword come from? is it your semblance...?"
Yuta just nods, as his taller companion unholsters his bladed pistols.
"then let us cut these grimm down to size." Ren's face is calm and focused.
"well said Renny! let's crush'em!" Nora is grinning, holding her huge hammer over her head.
"Right. Let's make these grimm regret taking form." Yuta smiles at his allies, before focusing.
Yuta holds his katana to the side, and channels cursed energy through the sword, as well as enchanting it.

'permanent durability increase...temporary power enhancement...'
The other two look at the sword, and in their eyes, it looks normal. no energy cloak, nothing...but suddenly, to them, the sword is ominous, eerie in its normalcy...
Yuta is the first to move, relying on muscle memory...that is no longer there. he is forcing his body to move properly, as he makes contact with the frontline of the grimm.
'if i can't use my precise movements...than i'll have to use...'
'new shadow style'
Yuta sheathes the sword, and forms a weak simple domain along his sword, and coiling his cursed energy within the sturdy saya.
Yuta slides into a Iijutsu stance, and with a pull of his sword, he does it.
"Batto-sword drawing"
with a surge of cursed energy, Yuta lunges and slices through 2 beowolves, and even slices into a beowolf behind the two. Yuta cuts upward, cutting halfway through the beowolf's mask.
Yuta startles a bit as the beowolves on either side of him are attacked. one is blasted to pieces by Lie Ren's pistols, and the other is crushed under Nora's hammer.
With a quick motion, Yuta pulls his sword free of the dissolving beowolf.
before the others can react, Yuta is sent flying by the snake, which he recognizes as a king taijitu.
Ren and Nora jump back, even as the taijitu chases Yuta down. Yuta enhances his body and sword, as well as fully bringing forth his malevolent aura. the taijitu's slithering movements became frenzied as he did so, and it lunges. Yuta's eyes widen, and as the taijitu's mouth closes around him, he simply holds up his left hand.

"RIKA!"
"YUUUUTA" Rika bursts out of Yuta's shadow, and begins carving up the inside's of the snake's throat, spraying black blood everywhere. Yuta himself stabs and carves up the snakes airway, and in a moment of desperation as he begins to suffocate in the vaccum of its maw...he punches the roof of its mouth with all his strength. his cursed energy lags behind, and then rushes forth.
BOOM
The top half of the king taijitu's head explodes in a shower of black gore, as Rika retreats to Yuta's shadow.
the other half of the king taijitu looks back at its exploded other half, as Yuta holds his sword in front of him. "Divergent fist...no wonder it is used so often..."
Ren and Nora are both in shock on either side of the taijitu, the Ursa and Beowolves already dead by their hands.
