Y/n woke up with a start, the remnants of the dream still clinging to her mind like a hazy fog. Her heart pounded in her chest, and she stared up at the ceiling, trying to shake off the images that had danced through her subconscious. It was unsettling, to say the least—she wasn't supposed to be dreaming about him, not in that way, not about Kai.

She groaned, covering her face with her hands as if that could somehow erase the memory. The dream had been... intense, inappropriate, and it had left her feeling more confused than ever. She tried to push it away, to convince herself it was just her mind playing tricks on her, but the lingering warmth in her cheeks made it difficult to dismiss entirely.

"Get it together, Y/n," she muttered to herself, swinging her legs out of bed and planting her feet on the floor. She needed a distraction, something to take her mind off of Overhaul and the ridiculous dream that had hijacked her sleep. A glance at the clock told her it was still early, too early for anything serious, but maybe... maybe a day out would help clear her head.

With a huff, she got dressed, pulling on a comfortable outfit that would blend in easily. She decided on the mall—a place where she could lose herself in the crowd, where the noise and the bustle would drown out the unwelcome thoughts that had plagued her since waking up.

By the time she arrived at the mall, the morning rush had just begun, with people milling about, hurrying from store to store. Y/n welcomed the chaos, the distraction, as she navigated her way through the crowds. The steady rhythm of life around her was comforting, a reminder that the world kept turning, no matter what strange dreams her mind conjured up.

She wandered from shop to shop, browsing without much purpose, until she remembered the real reason she needed to be here—stocking up on drinks. Y/n's powers, her ability to mimic water, required her to stay hydrated. She needed to keep plenty of liquids on hand, especially with everything going on.

She made her way to a grocery store on the mall's lower level, grabbing a cart and heading straight for the beverage aisle. It wasn't long before she started loading up on bottled water, juice, and a few energy drinks for good measure. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of her overflowing cart—if anyone saw this, they'd probably think she was planning for a small apocalypse.

As she maneuvered her cart down the aisle, Y/n couldn't help but feel a little more at ease. The mundane task of shopping grounded her, pulling her back from the edge of her earlier anxiety. She even allowed herself a moment of humour as she pondered which flavour of juice would be the most "hydrating," picking up bottles and putting them back with a laugh at her own indecision.

Halfway through her shopping spree, she noticed a young couple nearby, bickering playfully over which snacks to buy. Y/n watched them for a moment, a soft smile tugging at her lips. It reminded her of simpler times, of moments when she hadn't been so caught up in the darkness of her world. She sighed, grabbing a few extra snacks for herself—something sweet, something savoury, a small indulgence to lift her spirits.
