Hello everyone, welcome back to another interview! This time we're interviewing my best friend and the winner of the Namjoon category in my Eclipse Awards. Seamlesslove, or An, is an extremely passionate, talented, and inspiring writer who will get you in the mood to start writing. She writes a lot of thriller/mysteries, and Two Sides of a Coin is a Namjoon thriller/mystery fanfic. I hope you like this interview as An is someone very dear to me, so everyone, I hope you'll show love to her! Let's get it started!
This is a full-length interview, not a mini one.
Bold will be me, italics will be An. There will be labels, too.
Raven: Hey An! You know I adore you, so this interview is pretty exciting for me. We've talked about your writing a lot in the past, though it's good to sit down and really focus on you as a writer and Two Sides of a Coin, the first place winner of my Eclipse Awards, Namjoon category. I'm super stoked, so let's get into it! I like to start with general questions so we can get the gears turning, and then we can get into the nitty gritty. So, to start, can you tell us a bit about how you made Two Sides of a Coin, and what your favorite part of writing it is?
An: Hi Rave! I adore you more, so yeah, this interview is even more exciting to me. That first place is actually something that led to a streak of first places in many awards so I definitely appreciate that!
Well, the first thing to know about Two Sides of a Coin is that it was my first ever story that I drafted. It was supposed to be called "Met By Crime" but then I settled on a better suited title. Basically, my first inspiration for the story was Namjoon's BTS game storyline thing, where he played a detective role. Also, I've always thought Namjoon would kill the role of a detective so I decided to a write a story portraying just that.
My favourite part of writing it is Namjoon. Very simple actually. Y/n is supposed to admire him, idolise him, and I just write that. So I love it.
Raven: I will absolutely do an "I love you more" challenge with you right now, in front of everyone. This interview is gonna turn into an ily challenge 💀💀💀
But in all seriousness, that makes perfect sense. I vaguely remember that storyline and remember liking it the most since I felt it had the most depth, so I can definitely see where the inspiration came from. And oooh Met By Crime? Interesting, interesting. Two Sides of a Coin definitely fits the story more, though Met By Crime would sum it up pretty well too. Namjoon would absolutely kill the role of a detective... and us. Definitely us. Y'know, it's funny you bring up Namjoon and Y/n since the next two questions are about them, with the next question being about Namjoon as a character and the one after that being about Y/n's idolization of him.
So, looks like that's the perfect segue to my question: Namjoon is one of the two central protagonists, and he has pretty much the exact opposite personality as Y/n. Can you tell me how you crafted Namjoon's personality, and what your personal favorite part about writing him is? Were there any unexpected challenges while you were writing him?
An: Haha that would be an amazing challenge to do, you know I'm always up for expressing my love, might as well write a song, what say?
Met By Crime was basically because the two leads are gonna be researching on crime and that's how they'll meet. It was pretty vague to be honest so I just changed it. Namjoon has already killed me enough times, I only live to love him again.
Well our brains are pretty much in sync because I brought up what you wanted to ask, yeah?
