Skai
As I walk into the cafeteria, I notice all eyes turn to me. Or more so them.
Blake and Trevor, my newly acquired bodyguards for some reason.
Blake found me on my way to the library, consistently begging me to join the basketball team which he said was because I'd fit right in, But Trevor called his bullshit and revealed that having a girl on the basketball team might encourage more girls to indulge in sports which would increase their sports fundings.
I initially agreed because I love basketball, I was never allowed to join the team in highschool because My parents were against it.
Something about it not being ladylike. Good thing they're not here then.
Might as well put my height to good useBlake, Trevor and I, surprisingly hit it off and they've been pestering me ever since.
I refuse to admit it but their presence makes school a little better. It's been a whole week since I last saw Ashie.. I was starting to think she was only a figment of my imagination.
We pick an empty table at the far end of the corner to avoid the attention that the Trev and Blake brought due to their popularity. We got some food, Blake offering to pay for mine once again. Like I'd say no to free food.
By now they've gotten accustomed to my behaviour.. I'm not an expressive type. I usually stay quiet and listen to their conversations only pitching in at some intervals. Trevor eyes me discreetly as I play with my food, spreading it around my plate, pretending to eat. I know he's been catching on to my eating habits but he doesn't say anything.
I hear a group of girls giggling as they enter the cafeteria, only bothering to look up when their footsteps became louder. They stop beside our table as I divert my eyes off my food , my eyes locking with those Golden eyes that plague my dream. Ashie.
I'm pulled out of my trans when Blake wraps his arm around Ashley and brings her to his side, my eyes lowering back to my food, suddenly feeling my mood shift as she places a kiss on his cheeks.
They look good together
"Oh yeah! This is Ashley, my sister " Blake said, grinning at me.
Wha-
"I know you- Skai right?"
Ashie said with a smile but I was too focused on what Blake said earlier.. sister?! For some reason that seemed to lift my mood back up
"-Don't you remember me?" Ashie said as hurt flashed across her golden eyes. Crap! I haven't said anything
"Thanks for helping me the other day" I said, embarrassment coursing through my veins for zoning out in front of everyone. I put my headphones on and for some reason heat floods my cheeks as I slightly push my food away and rest my head on the table too scared to spare her a second glance.
She remembers me!
I keep my head down the entire time only getting up when Blake removes my headphones and puts it on, rocking his head to the beat. Idiot.
My eyes meet Ashie's again and I offer her a small smile, surprisingly she instantly brightens up, flashing me her famous heart stopping smile.
Trevor starts up a conversation as they continue to eat away, Blake making everyone laugh from time to time, The awkwardness long gone with the wind.
I subtly stare at Ashie from time to timeShe looks gorgeous.
