You can notice that the stairs haven't been used in a while as spiderwebs decorate the candleholders on my way down. The guy mumbles something and all the candles light up straddling me. I'm starting to get a feeling of excitement because maybe all of this could be real. Once nearing the ground floor again, the guy jumps off the last stone staircase and leaves a cloud of dust whilst he holds out his hand to grab mine. As I went to grab it a shiver went down my spine. His hand feels electric and I notice he felt it as well. He drags me closer as he grabs my waist and lowers me down to the floor. His hand slide down my back and I look up. His blue eyes are darker and more intense than before. After 3 seconds, he quickly backs away into the room where we are now, which appears to be an old kitchen.
There are some long tables covered in pots and pans which by, looking at the colors, haven't moved an inch in over 10 years. I questionably watch his movement, he walks so nonchalant yet so confident through the mysterious yet beautiful kitchen. He drags his fingers across the dust on the table and looks up at me. I snap out of my intense staring and quickly walk towards some pots standing in the window. The daylight has now been replaced by the twilight as crickets fill up the quiet space. "What did you do?" He asks. "Sorry?" I replied. I heard his footsteps approach me and my heart instantly starts beating faster. "You heard me" he said, "you've got the most important wizard here at Hogwarts chasing you down these halls, and I'm supposed to believe you didn't do anything?". I hesitate to answer, what if he finds out I'm not supposed to be in this world? Would he erase my memory? As I don't know him, I shouldn't trust him this quick. "You didn't hear their conversation just now as I closed the hatch?" I said as I turned around now facing him. He shrugs his shoulders as his eyes meet mine, "not really" he answered.
I felt comfortable here in this space. It looked like nobody came down here i quite some time and would probably be the last place to search for a girl who didn't know her way around these halls. "How did you know there were stairs leading down here?" I ask while walking towards the dresser which was filled with open books revealing all kinds of witchy talk about how you can make potions. Again I feel a rush of disbelief.... potions? "I usually return to this place when I need some time to think" he answers, snapping me back to reality. I heard him move around the room as he continues "being seen as evil, always putting up a façade and expectations can even get the best wizards in their head sometimes" he said when he looked up at me. There's the attitude again but I can see his eyes teared up. There's a mysterious sadness about him that made me want to discover more.
He looked dead serious when he said the word "wizard" though so I have to pretend it's the normalest thing in the world I think to myself as I flip a page in the book I've been staring at. He walked towards me and stops in his tracks right behind me. I felt his warmth in my neck as he said "you still owe me something". His voice gave me goosebumps as I reply "do I?", I was kinda hoping he forgot.
"Who are you?" He lowered his voice and this time sounded more demanding. I turned to face him, we were now inches apart.."I'm y/n" I said whilst looking in his eyes. He felt so familiar even though I have never seen him before. I smirked as I returned the question "who are you?". He grinned and looked down, as he noticed our vibes were aligning. "I'm Draco" He said. There was a pause as we admired the names we just exchanged. "It's been a while since I sneaked around these halls but it's kind of thrilling y/n" he continued as he backs away from me and walks towards the other side of the kitchen opening a door to the meadow I've admired ever since I got here. "C'mon" he nodded his head outside to hint I should follow him. I had the feeling we were no longer strangers.
