The alarm on your nightstand blared, jolting you from your sleep. With a sigh, you reached over and silenced the intrusive noise, wishing you could close your eyes and slip back into the dream you'd been having.

In the dream, you were reliving your date from yesterday. Walking around the fairgrounds with him, hand in hand. He feeds you funnel cake and smears powdered sugar on the tip of your nose. The conversations you shared, learning more and more about him with each one. It had felt so real and vivid that waking up was almost a disappointment.

You glanced at the alarm clock again, and for a moment, you considered ignoring it and curling back under the covers. But you know that you have responsibilities on the farm to help your parents, especially because you skipped yesterday.

You stretched and stared up at the ceiling as you tried to find the motivation to leave the cocoon that was your bed. Then it hit you. Your feelings for Tyler were becoming very real. He wasn't just some cute stranger at a bar anymore. He wasn't even just a crush anymore. In the span of a few days, he had made you start falling for him.

The idea of falling in love with Tyler Owens scared you. You had only been in one relationship before, and the thought of opening yourself up again made your heart race with anxiety. Were you really ready for a relationship, especially with someone like Tyler? His job demanded him to be on the road constantly, chasing storms and danger, a lifestyle that seemed worlds away from your own. The uncertainty of it all weighed heavily on your mind, making you question if you were truly prepared for the challenges that a relationship with him would bring.

Reluctantly, you dragged yourself out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom. You splashed cold water on your face, memories from the previous day, and your dreams flood back.

A smile formed on your face as your phone lit up with a text notification. You picked it up to see who it was, and your smile widened when you saw Tyler's name on the screen.

GOOD MORNING! HOPE YOU SLEPT WELL! I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT YESTERDAY.

A blush crept to your cheeks as you quickly typed a response.

GOOD MORNING! I SLEPT GREAT. YESTERDAY WAS AMAZING!

You finished getting ready and went downstairs for your morning cup of coffee. As you entered the kitchen, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted you. Your roommate was sitting at the table, a knowing grin spread across her face as she looked up from her own cup of coffee.

"So how was it?" She asked, her eyes sparkled with curiosity.

You poured yourself a cup of coffee and tried to play it cool. "It was...good. Really good." You admitted before you took a sip.

"Just good? Come on, you're killing me! You went on a date with Tyler Owens and the best you can tell me is it was really good?" She said as she urged you for more information.

You laughed, before giving her a little more information. "Okay, okay. We went to the county fair. It was so much fun. We played some carnival games, ate way too much-fried food, and even danced to some live music."

She raised an eyebrow. "Dancing, huh?"

You nodded as a smile spread across your face. "Yeah, he taught me to two-step. I was a little clumsy at first, but he was patient with me."

Your roommate sighed dreamily. "That sounds so romantic. What else happened?"

You hesitated, not wanting to dissolve every detail of the date. "We watched a rodeo at the end of the night. He introduced me to one of his old friends, and well, he called me his girlfriend."
