Ryder and Freya had been the two who had gone after Mikael with Lily and Orion being their backup while James and Jesse joined me back at the school, Elena having been brought back to life and compelled to forget, so no one would become suspicious. This meant Derek, Zach, and Hadrian worked on dealing with canceling out the newest Council. Easily done considering how much land my family owned in Mystic Falls and around the world. Silas and Enzo had sent back a few interesting artifacts they had come across not even a day after having left.
"Tonight, is our last night in Mystic Falls," mused Marcel as we sat in the living room once more to await the others. "Are you ready to head back to New Orleans?"
And wasn't that the true question. Over a hundred years old and ties to all types of people and beings who have become family to me. Silas free and Tessa unaware thanks to the spells surrounding us that Silas even added onto finding amusement in leaving her unaware.
But even still, for a while yet we would leave this place behind until the Travelers returned. Even better, the artifact Silas brought me back was Amara herself, having left her frozen and entombed, allowing me to hide her away so the Other Side wouldn't fall nor be threatened.
"More than I thought I would be," I answered at last. "Many things have been stopped before being set into motion and for now I think it's about time I focus upon myself and that of my family."
"So, just how big is your family?" asked Marcel while giving Freya and the others a nod as they brought in the coffined Mikael as we now waited for our main guests.
"Over a hundred," answered Derek with a snort of amusement. "That is only counting the Salvatore side."
"Same could be said of the Bennett line," agreed Ryder with a grin. "Can't forget those who belong to his sire line either."
"Viper is in charge of that group though," added Lily with a roll of her eyes even as she clasped Freya's hand in her own. "He is the eldest turned belonging to Leviathan."
"Also owns a bar that only really serves other supernatural and has a hand in a shit ton of pies around the world," said Orion with a bit of awe. "He holds a high praise and place in our world that many whisper his name in fear, close to that of the Mikaelson family."
"I'll be sure to tease him about it," I said with a light chuckle before straightening along with my Bennett family. "They are here."
Niklaus had freed his siblings as I invited them in for tonight alone not paying any of them mind outside of the Hybrid. A part of me wanted to intensely watch Marcel and Rebekah's reunion but I refused to be that type of person who does not trust their other half which is what Marcel was to me.
"Congratulations on finally being truly free Niklaus Mikaelson."
Niklaus gave a light laugh eyes alight as he looked me over before flicking toward where Marcel sat beside me and over my family around me. Some confusion seemed to fill him as he looked at Freya, even more so when Finn reacted to the sight of her as well.
"It is all thanks to you love," offered Niklaus before gesturing toward his siblings. "Allow me to introduce you to my family. You already know Elijah, beside him is Finn the eldest, Kol the youngest, and my darling sister Rebekah. Sibling's this is Leviathan Salvatore and his brood alongside Marcel his lover and our old friend."
"Lover?" asked Rebekah voice tight as I finally looked toward the woman.
"Yes," answered Marcel as he snagged my hand in his. "It has been a very long time Rebekah and in that time a lot has changed."
"I can tell," snapped Rebekah before glaring toward me. "He isn't that much to look at. Childish more like."
She really shouldn't have said that in my house. I didn't say a word as Ryder, Joseph, James, Jesse, and even Freya moved to bring her to her knees in agony that had her withering upon the ground in front of me. The fact Freya had picked Lily's and in turn, my side, meant a lot as I finally raised a hand halting the pain, that they were inflicting upon her while gaining to my feet before smoothing out my shirt.
"I may not boast the age you do Miss Mikaelson," I said calmly with negligent wave of my hand before staring her down. "But I am not a child. You will respect me in my home. Especially considering the gift I am going to be giving your family."
"Oh, and what is that?" asked Kol smile wild and eyes brimming with anarchy as he eyed me down.
"Well brother," cut in Freya bringing all attention to her. "That would be our father of course."
"Freya," breathed Finn as he took a staggering step forward unable to look away from the sister thought to be lost. "But how?"
I didn't pay much attention as Freya finally told her story and just what her mother had done to gain safe passage for her family with the help of her sister. No, instead I watched as Ryder and Hadrian brought the coffin holding Mikael into the room even as Joseph came to my side to hand me the white oak Mikael kept on his person.
I never did inform Niklaus of me owning the white oak wood that would have been used to build the Wickery Bridge and welcoming sign.
"How am I not surprised," scoffed Niklaus before looking to the coffin holding his 'father'. "You really have outdone yourself love."
"I do try," I said in return before offering the other the white oak stake as the Mikaelson children, now reunited with Freya, moved to deal with the last of their parents for good. "After this it will be goodbye for a while."
"We will be joining you in New Orleans," cut in Elijah as he watched Niklaus stake their father. "It was our true home once."
"Do not forget it is me who rules New Orleans," added Marcel with a sneer once more firmly standing at my side. "And we won't have any problems."
"For now," agreed Niklaus as he walked back toward us as his father turned to ash some satisfaction all but wafting off of him. "But that is neither here nor there. I am finally free, and Mikael is dead."
"Time for us to move onward," finished Elijah as his siblings circled around him relief filling all of them. "No more shall we live in fear."
