( chapter five )

𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐀 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 sat in the kitchen, watching as Five rifled through different cupboards and drawers.

"Five," Alora groaned. "There's none here! I've looked already."

"You don't like coffee." He frowned, turning to look at her before going back to looking for coffee.

"Last time you saw me, I didn't like coffee."

"You still don't like coffee."

Alora paused. "Yeah.." she sighed.

Allison walked in, throwing her coat on a nearby chair. "Where's Vanya?"

"Oh." Klaus was sitting in a small chair, clutching a guitar. "She's gone."

"That's unfortunate." Five sighed, holding his empty cup.

"Yeah." Allison agreed, looking around the dim kitchen.

"An entire square block, 43 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, but no, not a single drop of coffee."

"Dad hated caffeine." Allison said, frowning.

"Well, he hated children too, and he had plenty of us." Klaus laughed dryly before his face went serious.

Allison looked strangely at him before Five spoke up, "I'm taking the car."

"Where are you going?" Klaus asked him, putting down the black and white guitar.

Five squinted at the man, "To get a decent cup of coffee."

"Oh!" Alora put up her hand. "Can I come?"

"Sure."

Alora got up and joined Five at his side. Allison questioned the boy, asking if he even knows how to drive a car. The boy replied that he knows how to do everything before grabbing Alora and blinking away.

They both landed in the car, Alora blinking and looking around. "Five," she started as they pulled out of the alleyway. "Logically," he looked at her out of the corner of his eye. "-not that you're not logical- you're probably the most logical person I know, not that I know a lot of people-" the started rambling.

"Alora." He interrupted gently, focus on the road ahead.

"Right! So, logically, wouldn't you just blink to the place you're going to rather than driving?"

Five thought for a moment then sighed. "I don't know, I just wanted to drive around."

"Right, okay. Cool." She was kind of awkward around him. One, since she hadn't seen him (or anyone for that matter) is around 14 years and two; she might still have a small, teeny tiny crush on the boy. Or man. Who cares?

After a while, they arrived at Griddy's Donuts, a donut shop the kids used to go to together at nighttime, not that their father knew. Five opened the door and quickly walked into the shop, Alora only just got out of the car.
